Physician assisted suicide or euthanasia is considered a mercy killing by many people and nothing else. It is described as a way of putting people out of their misery which is a difficult issue because it plays on our moral, ethical, or Biblical values we all hold. These methods can be considered an element of suicide because the patient is requesting this process to take place, or possibly considered as murder because it requires the assistance of a third party to complete the action. These practices have caused many controversies in today’s society because people argue the fact that this can be justifiable in some cases where many religions believe this is totally against God’s will.

Therefore, death is our enemy because God instructs us to choose life, “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants” (Deu 30:19). Christians must represent the image of God and if they are unwilling to face the pain and accepting death from humans then they are destroying the spirit of God that dwells within them. As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians, “who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (1:4). People look to satisfy their needs without allow God to work in their lives during these uncertain times and sometimes forget that God will never leave our side. God creates life and He takes it away so every thought about suicide or assisted death is the devil playing tricks on the mind.
