The wait for disability is a long and extensive process. Which can leave the person waiting for these benefits in a lot of need and stressed. Before even applying ''A person who becomes unable to work and expects to be disabled for at least twelve months or who will probably die from the condition can receive OASDI payments before reaching retirement age.'' The benefits generally include money, food stamps, and Medical Insurance (Medicare).For people living with disabilities this is excellent way to increase quality of daily living. This is making sure disability recipients have a decent place to stay and way to pay for rent, electricity, and also not have to worry about the household going without food and starving. It also means having peace of mind that if something was to happen such as: a broken appendage, a stroke, or a heart attack, Medical insurance is present to pay for it or even just routine health checkups. The longer these individuals go without these benefits the more likely are to become homeless. It also should not take so long for people to know if they are going to receive these benefits. People who can not provide for themselves because of a disability should receive these thing as soon as possible to ensure individuals have the essentials for life .The process should be a shorter one to keep people from having to wait months or even years to get something they need to help them
