Counter-Argument: Just like everything in this life, there are two sides to everything. While I strongly believe that the rituals and religion help shape our lives, some may believe that those same things do not shape our lives. Rituals are strongly tied to culture. Every culture is different and that is how there are many different rituals that people do in their lives. Some people do not adhere to their culture rituals and go against their cultural when they grow up and gain more freedom. Having this kind of attitude makes people go against what they were taught and in return the rituals they grew up learning do not affect their lives forever. Another reason that somebody may believe that one is not affected is because they want to look good in the eyes of their friends and the world. Social media is one way that people try to do that. So they will adhere to those rituals instead of the ones that they were taught in their youth that bring familiarity and comfort. Living in a world that is constantly changing and needing to see results before they believe in anything can also be a key reason why someone would go against the religious rituals and beliefs that they were taught by society and their families. Synthesis: There have been good points brought up by both sides of the argument about the impact of rituals on a persons life, there are many people who believe that one side is true when compared to the other side. I would have to agree that our religious beliefs and rituals do help shape our life and let my readers know that even though I have covered both sides to this discussion, I still feel strongly that everyone is shaped by the rituals they are taught through society and
