Freedom is the power/ right to act, speak, or think as one wishes to without restraint. The first Amendment was put into to place, so that everyone in the United States of America can express their self in any way they want. Lately freedom has been constrained because people feel like they are not being heard or they get criticize on how they express their opinions. For instance, Colin Kaepernick is criticize for refusing to stand for the national anthem. Kaepernick is a player for the 49ers, which by the way is my favorite football team. There is a considerable amount of controversy about what Kaepernick did, whether it was the wrong or right thing. In the article Kaepernick flap a familiar one for Kim talks about how she does not say that part because she knows there still is not justice for all. This is precisely what is going on in today society and that is why Kaepernick felt he had to stand up for people because everyone in society is not getting the same rights as others. People “Black people” are getting killed more and more each day on police brutality, which is what Kaepernick does not stand for and is tired of it. Kim says “what I think is most disappointing about being criticized was that so many addressed my race and gender”. She is a Chinese lady that lives and is from the USA and many people said she should go back where she came from. They do not know where she is from, people are just ignorant and think just because one is Mexican, Chinese, and Black that they should go back to their home land, but this country is so diverse with many different types of people. Everyone has the right to say what they want because it is freedom of speech, but does not mean what they are saying is correct or right. But who gets to make that the decision on what is right and wrong that is said. For instance, with Kaepernick and Kim controversy of what they are does not mean it is right or wrong. Just because you stand or “do not stand” for what you believe in does not mean you are correct. This does not mean that I disagree with Kaepernick, do I think he could have do this differently, yes, but who am I to say anything that is the best way he felt to express
