Recommended: Be the change principles that underpin social entrepreneurship

Introduction

As Investorpedia (2016) put it, a social entrepreneur is someone who engages in an innovative idea with the possibility to solve a community problem. With the willingness and effort to take risk, these individuals create positive changes in the society via their initiative. As individuals work hard to drive social innovation and transformation in variable areas such as education, health, environment, and enterprise, these activities are termed social entrepreneurial. This paper examine an organization that has carried out a social project which is beneficial to a group or community, and how I can develop this program to benefit people in my community.

An organization chosen here is “Camfed”. Camfed is an international non-profit organization aim at fighting poverty and inequality in sub-Saharan Africa through entrepreneurship education. This is done by encouraging girls and providing them with the need support to go to school and become successfully and apparently empowering the girls to become agents of change. In addition to supporting young women, this organization is also working to breed out new lives as entrepreneurs and community leaders. …show more content…

The first step in designing an organization of such magnitude will require the involvement of the media, because the media will eventually help in publicizing the organization and its objectives. More so, engaging the entire local community will certainly gives an upper hand due to the fact that they are the sole beneficial of the program.
