Guns do not Kill People In the United States alone there are at least 270,000,000 guns. Almost 88 out of 100 people own guns, the highest capita in the world. Citizens use these guns to protect their families and property from the many criminals that try to destroy or invade them. Gun control is unnecessary for the United States to enforce upon their citizens. Controlling firearms will prevent nothing when it comes to convicts owning or wanting to uphold firearms. Even with the many school and public workplace shootings Washington has not completely stopped the selling of guns, and probably never will. Also United States citizens feel much safer from predators near or in their communities when they have ownership over guns and they obey the law. In the United States between 1982 and 2012 there were 62 mass shootings; of the 62 shootings, 49 of the shooters used illegally obtained guns (Concealed). The Bureau of Justice Statistics reported in May of 2013 that 37.4% of prison inmates that carried, used, or had a firearm obtained that gun from a family member or friend. If guns did not scare elected representative after that massacre to put gun control into effect then will anything be enough to (Warren). After that event the United States government could have ended the sale of guns due to the tragedy; however, they did not. They are still being sold today because people will get ahold of them anyway. Therefore, if 26 little kids and adults died and the government did not automatically stop it, they probably never will. This is why control laws should not be in effect. People may be more likely to shoot schools or mass shooting to happen if gun control is put into
