Imagine this you’re sitting in your room doing homework, then you suddenly feel the temperature go down. We all hear the sounds at night, but we try to make an excuse of what we heard. We can’t help think someone is watching me, someone I can’t see. All the sounds, the sudden movements are really ghosts.
There are many shows about ghost hunting and it’s hard to figure out if they are true or not.
For example, “Ghost Hunters, now in its 10th season of not finding good evidence for ghosts” (Benjamin Radford). Many people believe ghosts are just a figment of our imagination, our minds tricking us into seeing something we aren’t but is that really the truth. There have been ghost sightings all around the world. Ghost hunters are the ones who think they can catch them on camera. Don’t believe everything you see on TV. Ghosts are real there is proof but ghost hunting shows are mostly scripted and rigged. Ghosts are real there is so much evidence to support it but the ghost hunting shows are the things to get you to believe in ghosts.

Well with ghosts that’s the case. Many people don’t believe in ghosts until they have actually had and experience with a ghost. I have had a few and I know that’s the reason I believe in ghosts. Personal experiences can be scary especially with ghosts. According to the internet there is “no scientific evidence” to show that ghosts are real but guess what, don’t believe everything you see on the internet. There is actually more evidence to prove that ghosts are real rather than not real. “In america 37% of people in the united states believe in haunted houses and nearly half believe in
“The strange thing about the paranormal is that no matter how often [a person proves] it, it remains unproven” (Chopra). Given personal experience and evidence by professionals that have dedicated their lives to find answers regarding the paranormal and the afterlife. There will always be skeptics so long as there are humans with their own thoughts and opinions. Despite what skeptics say, ghosts exist; there are several eyewitness accounts, religious traditions, and traditional cultural stories that support the paranormal.

Apparitions, eternally bloody hands, and ghosts all sound like key elements to a nightmarish dream. Imagine not being able to tell if these things were real or just a figment of
aranormal activity has been a cause of fear and excitement throughout history. The unknown attracts the curiosity from those who wonder whether the supernatural is real or a figment of the imagination. Ghosts are one of the supernatural beings whose existence is questioned every day. Many want to deny the existence of ghosts because they are terrified of other phantoms who may exist and ignore the evidence that has been brought forth throughout the years. However, ghosts are supernatural pheromones whose existence still impacts today’s society.
According to Peter Kor's third principle (2), such an extraordinary claim as being able to communicate with the dead makes us "question our understanding of ordinary events" and "such an extraordinary claim or view requires proportionate revision of conventional wisdom"(2). For example, if a friend in Florida calls to tell me that a polar bear was in his backyard, eating the wheel off his car but has since left, I should not simply accept this, because it questions what I already know to be fact. What I already know as fact in a situation like this is that 1) polar bears do not live in Florida because they are not comfortable in the heat, 2) polar bears certainly do not roam free in suburban areas, and 3) just because he said this happened doesn't make it real.
A ghost is a soul that appears as a dead person or is against a living person. Most people still believe in ghosts even though they have not seen one. The first sightings of ghosts date back to 856 A.D (Stories, 2014). Ghosts mostly make loud noises and disturbances to let people know that they are in the midst. In the first century A.D., the great Roman author and statesman Pliny the Younger recorded one of the first seen ghost stories in his letters, which became noticeable for their bright story of life during the peak of the Roman Empire. The world around us has become more technical with the findings and history of ghosts not cited correctly (Stories, 2014)). The place ghosts come from or occupy varies depending on their spiritual abilities. Ghosts feel more comfortable in a place that is unrestrained and enables them to move freely (Zamora, 2014).
...hat there is no clear way to prove it or disprove it yet with research we have today. More research in the field is required to learn whether or not the concept is true. It seems that this century old debate will continue on for who knows how many years.
The particular story I collected takes place in Philadelphia, where ghost stories are plentiful. Philadelphia is an old city with a rich cultural heritage, and our founding fathers made history in the place that was once our nation’s capital (Eidmann). Many believe that their spirits and spirits of those from colonial times still lurk around. It is easy to feel like spirits are around when in a place where many people have lived and died before, and in a place that is filled with old buildings and landmarks. All of these factors make this city a perfect place for a ghost story.
There are many theories as to how someone or something becomes a ghost. This is called Paranormal which means beyond normal and scientific name is parapsychology, which means study of interactions between living organisms and their external environment that seem to transcend the known physical laws of nature (Britannica, 147). In 1920, Dr. William McDougall was the first scientific psychical who research about Paranormal Activity (Stefanik, 2000). According to Stefanik, Paranormal experiences often seem weird, uncanny, or unnatural. Typically they are quite rare but there are a few exceptional "stars" such as who have regular paranormal experiences and may show seemingly consistent paranormal ability (Daniel, 2004). Different types of scientists who researched about paranormal activity was spiritualists. The scientists accepted paranormal to be real. There are believers and nonbelievers about the paranormal phenomenon. Discussion about parapsychological phenomena has assumed emotional overtones, unsuitable to scientific discipline, and outspoken but contradictory opinions are still voiced (Cauz, 2010, p.147)
Ghosts, as with any other misunderstood group or people, have been preyed upon by others without understanding. The lack of knowledge about ghosts and haunting activity has led people astray as to what they really are. What Hollywood and television portrays is very inaccurate and cannot be relied upon as truthful. They show these spirits of the dead as being evil in nature, filled with malice and harmful intent. But that this is not the case. The field of paranormal activity is amazing. It has caught the imagination of people from every walk of life. It has always interested me and has influenced me to pick this as the topic for my research. Through this research I wish to uncover the truth about the existence of ghosts. I also wish to correct the wrong notions that people have about ghosts and enlighten non-believers.
Are ghosts real? That is the question that most of society deliberates day after day. The true definition of a ghost is a soul or spirit of a deceased individual that can appear in visible form or other manifestations to the living. Ghosts are of the most common paranormal belief in the world. Most people believe in ghosts because of a personal experience, whether that was seeing or sensing an unexplained presence. Who wouldn’t want to believe that our beloved family members are looking for us?
For many years, people have debated whether or not spirits are real. Some people get scared at the fact that there might be something unknown lurking in their house in the middle of the night making their footsteps known to everyone in it. Maybe that person feels watched upon or feel some kind of presence in their home, or even sees shadows moving their way through rooms. Different people around the world have their own opinions based on religion and experiences when talking about angels, demons, and the spirits that have life after death. New technology is getting closer to detecting these energies happening in the world today. The history of haunting dates back many years, and more people want to get involved because of the new technology.
When one really thinks about it, the only thing we can be sure of is the existence of our minds. Whatever one believes is all perceived through senses, emotions, and thoughts such as sight or past experiences/knowledge. In actuality, anything we perceive cannot be believed as fact. On one end of the spectrum, extremists known as solipsists would argue that nothing exists but their minds, they make up the entirety of their reality and nobody else even exists. The floor beneath our feet does not exist and neither do our peers. If you try to argue that this life you lead is real because you can see the world, or through science, or that it is a dream that even if so, would still be perceived as a reality. Your senses have to be filtered through your mind, but to do that your mind has to tell you about the external world- which is what is being called into question- so trying to prove that your senses are reliable will leave to arguing in circles. Science again has this same issue- if one cannot establish the reliability of the senses in relation to an external w...
century, ghost hunting is almost as scientific as physics. Ghosts are now normally categorized into one of three groups: a residual haunting, a spirit that lived as a human , or a spirit that never lived as a human (Killen, 1).
Whether we choose to believe in the paranormal or not, we all have to realize that. There are many strange things that happen to all of us that are unexplainable. The history of paranormal existence has been around since the beginning of time. The paranormal is not what most people believe it is, “ghosts”.
