Over the years there has been questions that people are asking if we are alone. Scientists have been seeking evidence of extraterrestrial life in the past half century. There have been many sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) seen by the people around the world. Scientists state that intelligent extraterrestrial life almost certainly exists.
Are We Alone?
Life may had existed on Mars because it was a habitable world. In 2004, this discovery was made NASA's Opportunity rover at Eagle Crater that Mars had water. At the Martian surface there was liquid water, and if there was water that means that living organisms like bacteria, may have existed on Mars. Many scientists believe water did existed on the planet because three NASA rovers found rocks with appearance of channels, streams and even oceans spotted by orbiting satellites. A question was brought up to Richard Quinn, a SETI Institute researcher with Ames' Planetary Systems Branch, if Mars was a habitable environment? "Based on what we know about life in extreme environments, interpretations of mission results indicate that we are currently exploring habitable ancient environments on Mars, and I believe that these are solid interpretation...The question is about preservation potential of bio signature rather than intrinsic habitability of the ancient environment." (Quinn, The Daily Galaxy)
Studies shows that extraterrestrial life can come from dying stars. Dying stars can support planets with life. This study comes from a new theory study of earth orbiting white dwarf stars. When a star dies, it puffs off its outer layers, leaving behind a hot core called a white dwarf. A white dwarf air contains water vapor, or even signatures of life, such as oxygen. Abbie Lo...

In July 13, 1860, everyone in the city of Wilmington, Delaware, looked upon the sky and appeared to be a 200 foot long blue flying object about 100 feet in the air above them. A news reporter in the Wilmington Tribune reported that the object "moved in a straight line without any inclination downwards" and gave off "sparkles in the manner of a rocket."
The UFO apparently had an entourage. It was preceded by a pitch-black cloud flying in front. And bringing up the rear, about 100 feet (30 meters) apart, were three "very red and glowing balls." As the object turned toward the southeast over the Delaware River, a fourth red glowing ball appeared. After eight minutes, the mysterious object turned east and disappeared from view, according to "The UFO Book of Lists."

Show MoreEver look up at the sky and just wonder if there is life anywhere else? Have you seen anything in the sky that is almost unexplainable? What if your thoughts really came true? The thought of the existence of aliens seems to have been around since the beginning of time. There is one incident in particular that really hits home when talking about the subject, the UFO incident of Roswell, New Mexico.
The UFO crash site in Roswell New Mexico in 1947 was the start of people’s interest in extraterrestrials, the discovery of military secrets and experiments kept from society, and the start, in search of answering are we alone in this universe.
Some time in July of 1947, a mysterious flying object zigzagged across the skies of New Mexico. Within twenty-four hours the object disappeared from radar just as mysteriously as it had appeared. It was last seen in a small town in the middle of the Arizona desert, it’s name, Roswell.
Paranormal Activity is similar to pseudoscience and involves experiences outside of science (Hines, 2003). However, there is another side to these strange occurrences which includes UFOs, alien contact, and the appearance of unusual creatures. According to Imbrogno (2008) “No matter how skeptical you are, there are three things that cannot be denied: that reports of paranormal experiences exist, that they persist, and they are increasingly occurring on a global scale” (pg.16). According to Hines (2003) “Paranormal phenomena includes extrasensory perception (ESP), telekinesis, ghosts, poltergeists, life after death, reincarnation, faith healing, human auras, and so forth” (pg.20). The term UFOs, unidentified flying objects, is the reported sighting of any object or arrangement of lights that do not have a logical or natural explanation. The first reported incident in America occurred in 1947, when an amateur pilot, Kenneth Arnold, made claims of a sighting while flying his small plane near Mount Rainier in Washington which caused the U.S. government to begin searching for extraterrestrials (Stephey, 2009). Moreover, Chinese texts from the 4th century make claims of a “moon boat” that visited once every 12 years hovering above the country to become the earliest sighting in recorded history (Stephey, 2009). Although issues such as speed, shape, and size continues to differs, the U.S. Air Force commissioned Project Blue Book, an official record of sights that occurred in the U.S. from 1952 to 1969 logging over 12,000 sightings or events involving UFOs.
With more and more planets being discovered everyday isn’t it a little narcissistic of us to believe that we are the only planet that can sustain life. With movies like Star Wars, and Star Trek the thought of extraterrestrials are becoming more mainstream. However there are still many people who don’t believe.
Over the years, the world has evolved and many debatable topics have arisen. In my opinion, one has become even more profound as the years have gone on. If this phenomenon became a reality, every living thing in the world would be greatly affected. It would even alter the world as we know it. The question, “Are aliens real?”, has been around for hundreds of years and has puzzled many professors and scientists. No one knows for sure, but I have faith that these extraterrestrial beings are not just a myth. Over the years, too much unexplainable, ancient and scientific evidence has been uncovered for nothing else to be out there. There is no doubt in my mind that aliens are real.
According to well-respected scientists, there are more stars in our universe than grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth. Those odds make the possibility of extraterrestrial life hard to ignore. UFOs, or Unidentified Flying Objects, are at the center of this controversial debate. For those who believe UFOs are controlled by extraterrestrial life, it is these same odds that cannot be overlooked. On the other hand, skeptics are hard at work outlining why the evidence that supports the existence of UFOs, mainly anecdotal in nature, is just not supportive enough.
Intelligent life outside of Earth is one of the most debated topics in The United States of America. There are plenty of shows on television about it and supposedly there has been thousands of sightings all throughout America. Our government is thought of to have encountered and held extraterrestrials. Area 51 is where everyone theorizes that we hold and run tests on aliens, even though there is little evidence. There are also ancient stories told about “gods” coming down and doing inhuman things. In cave paintings you can find UFOs in the pictures, even back then they somehow knew of these flying objects. Most people do not want to recognize that our universe is so vast it would be more likely that there is intelligent life out there than there is not. It is possible that the general population is afraid to acknowledge Aliens’ existence because they cannot imagine a species being more advanced and smarter than us. Another reason people fail to recognize them is because the media has made these “creatures” very far fetched with
The existence of life – Aliens, beyond our planet has been a controversial topic for several centuries, and is a debatable issue even today in the 21st century. What is our topic you may ask? Aliens, Do, Exist. According to theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking, it would be improbable for life not to exist somewhere other than Earth. This is a bold claim, but there is evidence to support this statement. The evidence we seek is in the many Alien occurrences we have experienced throughout human history.
All of these definitions are exact and significant to this research because sometimes it is obvious people are unaware of the true meanings of these words. The meanings of extraterrestrials and aliens have been commonly misinterpreted. An extraterrestrial is something, living or nonliving, which is not from earth, while an alien can be something from earth, but is not native to its surroundings. An unidentified flying object is something that has never been officially recorded. In this case, the witnesses refer to th...
There are numerous of different movies, books, and TV shows on how humans think aliens interact, look similar to, and what the media portrays aliens to be like. Occasionally, most will stumble across news articles with a variety of related headings about aliens, UFO’s, or recent known abduction stories. Every person has their own theories and or thoughts on these basic questions: do aliens exist? Could the government be covering up real life “space ships” or encounters? Countless folks have claimed to witness or have fanciful stories that have fascinated countless while several others are turned away. There are Videos, pictures and pieces of physical evidence to support nearly all of these stories. Even more alarming,
The thought of government cover-ups have been long discussed. The government has always, in the past, tried to keep any sign of aliens, whether it be pictures from space, to crashes on earth, to a low or nonexistent level. Just recently has the government been harassed to the point where they actually gave us clues to alien existence. It has in some ways been believed that the government has worked in partnership with popular movie directors, to produce alien movies to ease the thought that we may not be alone. Such movies as ôThe Arrivalö and the ever popular ôIndependence Dayö are very good examples of well convincing alien movies. If this is true, they did a good job, because statistics state that 75% of people today believe that there is some kind of intelligent life forms besides ourselves in the universe. That is very convincing compared to the 20% whom believed 25 years ago. ô New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.ö (MacGowan 261)
Unidentified Flying Objects, UFOs have always been shrouded in mystery. In spite of the numerous sightings of flying saucers and alien beings reported worldwide, the existence of UFOs has never been confirmed. Debates of all kinds exist until now, and all arguments, either in favor or against the existence of UFOs, will continue to perplex the public. There are many possible explanations as to why UFOs are still a mystery, some of which are discussed here.
A vast number of people still consider this question especially scientists and astronomers who spend a lifetime trying to prove or disprove the idea that extra-terrestrial does exist in an outside universe. Throughout time technology has advanced and many scientist are able to study this question more efficiently. The theory of life beyond earth has been concentrated on attempts to receive wavelength signals. Wave length signals are “the distance between identical points in the adjacent cycles of a waveform signal propagated in space or a long wire. “ (Dictionary.com) While the people on earth lead themselves on to believe the possibility of extraterrestrial life, many microbiologist astronomers and zoologist have been focusing on the environments that creatures have adapted to in order to survive. Microorganisms such as tardigrade usually found in moss can live in temperatures that vary from -400 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and don’t require much water to live. Many scientist believe that these microorganisms have mastered living in environments on other planets in our solar system. The conditions that these microorganisms live in on a daily basis bring many scientist to conclude that there may very well be extra-terrestrial life elsewhere.
