Mr. Kowatch,

As you already know, I am trying to switch my bible class from New Testament to Apologetics. I talked to Mr. Webster about it, and he completely understood my reasoning.

I understand that I as a student am required to take a course over Jesus. However, I believe that students should be able to take the Bible class they desire.

I took Old Testament last semester, and the class did not fit well with my learning style. Old Testament and New Testament are classes that require a lot of memorization. I learn and remember more from discussion rather than worksheets and lists. From what I am told, Apologetics is a class with a few people, and full of discussion. This is the type of environment I learn best in.

As someone who plans on going to a large public school such as IU or Purdue, I want to be able to defend my faith. Apolgetics is the best class to equip me for the future.

If you aren't willing to make the exception of skipping a Jesus course, then maybe I can convince you how Apologetics is a Jesus course. The class's focus is defending the birth and the resurrection of Jesus. Sure, it may get into other details of Christianity, but for the most part it is about defending Jesus. If you cannot make the exception of me bypassing the Jesus class, then maybe you could count Apologetics as a Jesus class.

In the past you have allowed other students to count Chapel class as a bible course, and I think it's more than reasonable that you allow students to take which bible class they want. I understand if you let one person do it, others may ask. Which is why if you do decide to change your mind, I will do my best not to let anyone know I bypassed this requirement. However, I do believe that this rule should be changed for future years. If people are paying to go to a Christian school, shouldn't they have the decision what type of Bible class they
