I. Lesson 1- Geography
A. Where would you like to visit?
Watch the film People around the World, then have the students pick a place from the movie on the globe that they would like to visit, then have them write a short essay about why they would like to visit there, and what they expect to find if they visited there. Any of the books listed could be used for this project as well as other resources such as internet searches. II. Lesson 2- Social Studies
A. Ask students to create original games they might play if they lived in an isolated part of the world. Have students use materials on hand for props or equipment and teach the game to their classmates or to students in another class.
III. Lesson 3- Art
A. Students use mixed media to create a collage that represents the diversity of the different cultures that interest them. They can use the book series Count Your Way Through Africa (through Korea, China, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia and the Arab world) for a reference. …show more content…

A. Find a Pen Pal. Have the students search for a pen pal in the country they are learning about. Any of the books listed could be used for this lesson, as well as other resources. V. Lesson 5-Languge Arts/ Social Studies
A. Teach the Language. Teach the children to count to 1-10, as well as to say general greetings.
