Abortion is a highly arguable issue regarding a surgical operation that when performed terminates a pregnancy. Formerly, abortion had been illegal in the United States before 1973. Nonetheless, when an abortion is performed correctly and by a professional it is known to be an extremely safe procedure. Additionally, there are two major attitudes on abortion, pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life supporters argue that abortion is unjust, while pro-choice supporters believe the women should make her own decisions on abortion. The number of abortions and abortion providers have slowly declined since the 1980’s. The article provides facts about the amount of providers available and the amount of abortions that take place. Therefore, with the amount of abortion providers declining, many women have limited access to this procedure and cannot exert their right to have an abortion. This source is beneficial because it provides a vast amount of data on the subject of abortion and abortion provider rates declining. However, this source is limited because it mainly addresses the rate of decline of abortions and abortion providers and nothing in depth about the specific places these declines are occurring. Yet, it is valuable for my group's research because it provides us with specific data needed to show how pro-life supporters can affect the rate of abortions and their providers.
