Anna in the tropic was an interesting play. In my opinion the paly was really well done and interpreted. The acting in my opinion was very good. The actress who stood out to me was Tina A. Burkhalter (Ofelia-the mother) she was really in character and she had charisma. Tina was an effective character because she was a strong mother and hardworking in the factory. Tina Burkhalter made the audience have a good laugh several times throughout the play. The second actor who stood out to me was Wyn Moreno (Juan Julian- lector). Wyn did a good job as Juan Julian, who captivated the workers in the factory to a different place in Germany. Wyn seemed very comfortable up stage with a loud tone of voice and was really into character.
The director of Anna In The Tropics Fidel Gomez did a good job in the casting of the play. The cast seemed like they would be Cuban Americans, some of the actors by there names and some of their Spanish lines. For example, actors like Miguel S. Torres and Joseph Daniel Zavala seemed form a Hispanic background. Therefore it is good as the …show more content…

Violence occurred throughout the whole play. In the beginning it started with the brother gambling with cockfighting. Santiago (Miguel S. Torres) was really ambitious in winning the cockfighting and borrowed money and from his brother Cheche (Joseph Daniel Zavala). There was fighting between the two brothers due to the money. The other form of violence was when Cheche takes Marcela (Lauren Villalobos). Thirdly, the tragic last part of the play when Cheche shots Juan Julian (Wyn Moreno) . The second theme would be love, Conchita (Shellie Sterling) had an affair with the lector. I don’t think she loved him but was not having the best marriage with Palomo (Eric Steven Flores) and she was attracted to the Juan Julian. Conchita fell in love with the story of Anna Caralina. After she knew she had made a mistake with Juan Julian she realized that she was in love with
