All over the world, testing on animals for research purposes still continues. From testing for diseases or developing medicines, animals have been tested on. However, there has been a controversy, some people think all the testing animals go through is not worth it. No, animal testing should not be banned due to its very important role in society. They allow testing of products, allow simulation of what happens to humans, and allows advancements in technology.
First, animal testing allows for testing of products if they are safe and work how they should be. From drugs to vaccines and shampoo, these are just a meager amount products that has been tested on animals. Some may say that all the testing done on animals is done with little or no purpose. If animal testing were banned, the gathering of essential information used in products for preventing death and misery would slow down to a halt. …show more content…

Although, some people may say that if they want solid results for progression in science, scientists should just test on humans and stop the abuse of testing on animals. Nonetheless, testing on certain animals contributes benefits for scientists. Take for example, rats and mice are about 95% of animals tested on. Since rats and mice have short lifespans, the testing done on animals “simulates” what would happen to humans but in a lesser time frame. Since most physiological and genetic systems are similar in between animals and human, it yields valuable information for
