My involvement in my band Subtle Words has positively influenced me and aided me in my transition to adulthood. I first began to show interest in music in the fourth grade and it has helped impacted me since. I’ve been involved in various musical groups including choral, men’s choir, concert band, and jazz band. Since my freshman year, I have played in several different local bands. It wasn’t until I started my current band, Subtle Words, that I became a more responsible and capable person of leading. In January 2015, my band recorded our first record and played our first show. To make people interested in our music, I studied how professional bands and record labels promote themselves and their bands. Professional bands use social media and photos of their bands to endorse themselves. I replicated their marketing strategies by using social media services like Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram. The excitement that I created for Subtle Words brought over 100 people to see us on a Thursday night even with school the next morning. The show was so successful that we earned over $500. It was a very exciting experience for me to make money doing something I love. …show more content…
We spent four days straight in the studio, clocking in over 35 hours in one week. We finished and left the studio with a product that I am very proud of we paid well over $1500 to record it. To finance our band, I took on a minimum wage job at a German restaurant. I’ve been working there for almost two

I have played an intrinsic role in my school’s band and orchestra department through helping organizing performances, teaching classes, and tutoring individuals. On a regular basis, I am responsible for directing and teaching classes including beginning band, with grades ranging from fourth to twelfth, and more advanced ensembles like concert band and marching band. I also play an important role in their performances sometimes by directing and other times by contacting venues to organize dates and times for the shows. I also dedicate time during the week to help beginning players

For a long time the ways that non-profit organizations raise money was the same. They used solicitation letters as a way to reach out and engage new audiences to financially support their organizations. Then with the rise of the internet, they were able to use mass emails. Now there is an even newer form of technology that allows organizations to fundraise and gain new audiences. This new medium is social media. Stone brings up some good points about using social media to fundraise. He quotes Stannard-Stockton, chief executive of Tactical Philanthropy Advisors, as saying, “It’s pretty well documented that social media is by no means an easy way to raise money, but it is a rather fantastic way to build a network of supporters.” Using a few other articles this paper will explore how nonprofits need to properly use social media and how it can help their organizations in return.
Ever since I was young, music has been a big part of my life and how I express myself. Music became an extremely important part of my life during my early teen years when I truly began to change physically and mentally. I began to have new experiences with others and began the process of figuring out who I really am. Without music, I do not know how I would express myself or how I would have endured my adolescence.
Many people across the world are affected every day by the gift of music. To those of us who let it into our lives, we truly view it for what it is. Unfortunately, not everyone realizes how powerful it can be. For me singing was something that I was always good at; I never really took it to heart. I never understood when people would talk about how music had changed there lives; I just didn't see how a few notes put together could affect anyone so deeply. It wasn't until last April when our choir was chosen among a select few to perform at Carnegie Hall that I would understand the indubitable impact of music.
Music has always been an important part of my life. Upon entering the fifth grade, my parents bought me a flute, at my insistence. After moderate success playing the flute, I saw greener grass on the other side of the musical fence. Singing just had to be easier than making music with a long metal pipe. My perception and reality did not exactly match. Singing has its own subtleties and complexities which are not readily apparent to the casual observer. Abandoning the flute for singing, I began taking voice lessons in the tenth grade. My voice teacher was very experienced and encouraged me to pursue my interest in music beyond high school. After much deliberation, I decided to major in voice during college. This path would be fraught with unforeseen difficulties and exciting challenges.

I will advertise on popular social networks, advertise on television and different radio stations. Also on a poster advertised in recording studios, colleges, universities, theatres and even schools. To even have newspapers and music magazines advertise would be getting the public interested.

Music has absolutely been an enormous part of my life and who I am. However,
On social media, the things that people like are helping people and companies become more widely known, and in turn, improve the company’s sales. People assume if they do not have followers or likes, they are not noticed as much. Teenagers are mainly concerned with being “liked” by everyone. The more followers that a teen has, the more money a company is making. However, they do not understand how beneficial they are to the companies. To them, the likes they receive are instant gratification, and prove their worth; but for companies, if more people view someone’s photo, and the photo advertises an Alex and Ani bracelet, then the viewer is inspired to purchase t their own bracelet to maintain the same level of popularity as the person in the photo. The companies are literally turning these likes into
Have you ever heard of bands that are local? Some bands play at late night events but you’ve never heard of them. That’s because they don’t have anywhere to start so people out of the city can listen to them. How do you think they can get more fans? Putting a video on YouTube rarely works especially if it doesn’t come from a popular sponsor. The band members record themselves and upload it to a website and have the music the uploaded free. In order for there to be more fans, the band needs to have their own music free. Someone that hasn’t heard of an artist won’t pay to listen to their songs, they won’t know if it’ll be a good ...

Musicians use many different kinds of media to promote their music. They use visual media as well as strictly listening media. The radio, television, and the internet are all different types of media musicians use to promote their music.
From my experience of playing with an orchestra and also a band, I have boosted my team skills, perseverance, responsibility, interaction, and stage fright, all of which are important aspects of being successful in life. While being a part of a band or orchestra, it 's essential that you learn to cooperate with those around you in order to make beautiful music together. The time and effort that it takes in order to learn how to play an instrument teach the qualities of patience and perseverance that almost every musician possesses. Responsibility is also taught while maintaining your instrument in working condition or such as remembering to get to your performance, rehearsals, and making it on time to practice. Being a part of this musical community can also greatly affect anyone 's social skills. Being surrounded by many other musicians who share the same interests as you, makes it easy for a person to open up and create strong
