One of my favourite shows is ‘How I Met Your Mother’ there is a number of reasons to justify my liking for this show. It’s an American sitcom that premiered on CBS on September 19th 2005. The series follows the main character, Ted Mosby, and his group of friends in Manhattan. His friends are called Barney, Marshall, Lily and Robin.

The story of this show revolves Ted Moseby who is an architect. Who is married and telling his kids about his life adventures with his friends based in Manhattan. He also tells his children the story of how he met their mother who we have never seen in the program.

The suspense of the story from the start is that we do not know who the mother is. The writers (Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Joe Kelly, Sam Johnson and some others) have deliberately done this to maintain the suspense which means the audience will carry on watching in order to find out who the mother is. The Writers of this show also misguides the audience by introducing many women into Ted Moseby’s life hinting to the audience there is a chance that they're the mother.

The genre of this television series is of a romantic comedy setting. This ensured that the audience is entertained with the story lines but includes humour as well as romance and this is blended very well throughout the programme. There’s the first serious rekindling of the concept of romance between Ted and Robin. In series 1, Episode 11 Barney said to Natalya “You need a mint.” after she drunkenly says she loves him.

There are many English Language features included within the script of this show. For example foreshadowing, during the earlier episodes of the season there are many speeches that foreshadow events which will take place in the future. For example when...

... sarcasm and humour to the show. However another key feature of them being in the show is to reflect Ted Mosebys future, their relationship inspires Ted and makes him question himself when will he find the right girl and settle down, but in the end he turns out to be like Marshall and Lily; happily married with children. Even during the show Marshalls character reflects Ted as once Marshall is left at thealter so is Ted.
This show contains a mixture between tension levels and comedy/ romance to cool so all off It fascinates me how the show has gone on for nine series yet has not become boring all episodes have managed to live up to a certain standard yet has not failed the hopes of its audience.
I believe this show is just tremendous compared to many shows that come on television without any plot or story that need to be abolished, If only all shows were like this.
