Dreams are mentioned everywhere. Big and main ideas focus around fulfilling your dreams and dreaming big. Huge ideas that have exploded into something amazing came from one small dream that was acted upon. In order for dreams to blossom, they have to be worked on and the dreamers have to be willing to put forth their all to make their number one dream come true. But what happens to a dream that is forgotten about? Or in this case, a dream deferred. When asked the question, “What happens to a dream deferred?” as in the poem Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes, the main occasions that could happen to the dream were to be that it gets left behind, the enthusiasm that the dreamer once had will be gone, and the dream will always come back to haunt the dreamer that did not act upon it.
First, in Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes, when a dream is deferred, the dream gets left behind. When a thought or idea is brought forth in one’s mind, they usually ponder on the idea for a while.
