The American dream is when you reach your goal by work hard each day and not give up. Accorded to Gregory Mantsios in “class in America” he analyzes the American dream by say that the 1 percent don’t care about the American dream, because they have everything they want and the working and middle class are try to achieve the American dream so they can have a successful life. Anyone and everyone living here can achieve the American dream on hard work, determination, and some sacrifice.
The working class are try to achieve the American dream. There some working class people that can’t achieve the American dream, because there get pay minimum wage which is ten dollars per hour today. The working class work 40 hours each week so hard that they receive an average salary for $20,000 to $32,000. The working class use that money to pay all the bills. Accorded to “Class in America”, “… the top 1 percent own over one-third of all the consumer durables (such as houses, cars, televisions, and computer) and financial assets (such as stocks, bonds, property, and bank savings.)” (Mantsios 191) The average salary of the 1 percent is $1 million or more. Just like the working class and the middle class, the 1 percent have bills to pay. The 1 percent have so much money they can pay all the bills anytime. They don’t worry about feed the family because so much money they can afford to eat anywhere. The 1 percent have so much that they live in a mansion. The kids can go to the best school around and the parent can pay 4 years or more for the kids to go to a university. But the child gets a job from the parent with or without a degree. Maybe that kids will have a salary of a million or more without work hard to get it. There are some kids that don’t work but get millions of dollars without hard work.
