Recommended: Impacts of colonialism on africa

The documentary entitled African Journey, focusing on the countries Mali, Ghana and Nigeria, explored how Africa is continuously growing and changing following the independence of colonies throughout Africa. Independence was not won easily for many African countries, the end of colonialism was an often violent and long trial, and the effects of colonization can still be found in the lifeways and locations of many of Africa’s most successful cities. However many countries refuse to let its colonial past impact the future uniting Africa in the fierce determination and persistence to succeed and create a better future for Africa.

Before Ghana’s independence on March 6, 1957 most of the country’s gdp was contributed to agriculture and the industry sector was less of a contributor. Recently, between the years of 2001-2010 the roles of whom or what contributes to the gdp has switched. Most of the contribution to the gdp is that of the service sector.
