Cloud Gaming In the 1950s Cloud computing started with mainframe computing, where multiple users were able to access a central computer by using a dumb terminal, which had only one function, and that was to provide access to the mainframe. In the 1970s, the concept of virtual machines was created, by using the virtual machine technology it was possible to used more than one operating system simultaneously in a secluded environment. In 1993 cloud computing reached its first milestone with e-mail, which is a method of exchanging information/ data or digital messages through a computer network of the internet. Emails were originally a text based form of communication only, these days’ files like multimedia, images or PDFs can be attached. Today, cloud computing is a part of our everyday lives, we still use it to email, and now we use a more perfected cloud system to store applications or files and can access them anywhere and anytime. This section of the report will cover the technology that is 'Cloud Gaming' and how it first impacted the video game industry, the advantages and disadvantages, the challenges and what the future holds for cloud gaming. 1.0 Impact Cloud gaming has been around for a number of years and is still improving today, it first arrived in the 1970s and was just a text based experience, and now it has sprouted into one of the most powerful systems that can support virtual worlds. This was one of the first type of games that uses the cloud, although the game play was extremely basic and only used typed commands in a text based environment. Cloud is known for streamlined operations, it makes everything that it’s involved convenient, and cloud allows users to connect to each other from across the world, without living their house. 4.0 Conclusion In conclusion, Cloud gaming is a useful technology that allows users to connect to one virtual space from all around the world, Cloud streamlines the things we have today, it eliminates the use of some peripherals like USBs, by allowing users to store their data online. Cloud gaming started in the 1970s as a very basic way for users to interact via a text-based world, and today users can communicate in virtual worlds that seem bigger than ours, cloud will continue to improve technologies, cloud is our future.
