I was very eager to apply to the Administrative Assistant opening as soon as I saw the position was available, and I hope to be contacted for an interview.
I currently work for Sears Holding Corporation at my local Kmart as a softlines associate and footwear merchandiser. I am responsible for maintaining tidiness and cleanliness of the softlines part of the store. I have to pay close attention to men's, women's, infant, and child wear, as well as infant hardlines. I was recently promoted to be in charge of footwear merchandise. Another part of my job is carrying the keys for the jewelry department, and helping customers understand each type of jewelry, and helping them understand what the best thing for them to buy is. Multiple times a day I have to help work the cash register when Kmart has employees call out, or not show up. At Kmart we have a reward point program where customers earn points that turn into money that they can spend in-store every time they purchase an item. More often than not, this program loses customer's points and money, and that is when my customer service skills have to come into play. I have learned just how simple it is to make a customer happy, just by listening to them tell me what they need accomplished. After hearing them out, I proceed to contact the reward points company. I have never not had a customer walk away disappointed, or without their points being put back onto their account.
In addition to my experience at Kmart, I also have experience doing clinicals at a

I've been working for Lowe's Companies for almost 3 years in May. I started at the retail store where I was apart of the Red Vest Mentor program. I was responsible for training and mentoring the front end associates in customer service. During my time there I also took on the responsibility to work standby for the cash administration office. As a back up cash administrator, I was responsible for processing daily businesses and cash deposits, as well as counting and staging cash drawer tills. Within this past year I advanced to the corporate office and worked for 6 months as a customer care agent. I worked on a team as an EOS (employee opinion survey) captain where I was responsible for encouraging my coworkers to provide feedback regarding
My career has been centered on technology starting at the age of 15 at CompUSA. I spent seven year in the organization until they were liquidated due to exceptionally poor financial management and a lack of brand unity. During this time I was heavily investing in school and other facets of life, so I only climbed a few levels to become a supervisor. Since the closure, I have been with Comcast building my career as a leader in this organization. I have held numerous positions in my seven years with Comcast, most recently promoted to Operations Manager in a new organization called the Billing Center of Excellence in January of 2013. My two peers and I operate a 360 seat contact center in St. Paul which handles roughly 13,000 customer relationships
I have been employed 2 and a half years, and over these past few years I have cross trained in 5 different departments and maintained what my manager calls the “highest levels of productivity for any student I’ve had work under me”. Thanks to this job I have also developed a passion for customer service. I routinely find myself going above and beyond for example, I once stayed half an hour after I had clocked out to help an older gentleman find all the items on the list his wife had left him. He couldn't reach the top shelf due to his arthritis, and had trouble seeing, I listened and gave him advice on how to reach out to his granddaughter. That moment I realized this was a feeling I wanted to pursue, and that decision has led me to a career in social
I realize that during the interview I may not have emphasized my administrative abilities as fully as I would have liked. Thanks to my summer job with LK&N, I have extensive experience meeting deadlines, maintaining records, and generating reports. In fact, the database I am most familiar with is ACCESS, the program used by ICY Student Advisors.
A teaching assistant will have a very important role in ensuring the environment for children is kept
In the professional realm I am well-tempered, reliable and an effective communicator. A good example of a time when I exhibited all three qualities would be during the summer when I served as a Tutor Counselor for Upward Bound at Mercer University. One morning, I woke up to two of my students knocking on the door because water was running through their ceiling. First, I found the source of the problem (a toilet overflowed from the third floor and poured all the way down to the first floor). Next, I sent a message to all the Tutor Counselors and the Resident Director so that they would be aware of the situation. Finally, I inspected the toilet and figured out how to shut it off. That being said, I still have many areas
Upon hearing of the position of Administrative Assistant II with the Department of Accounting at Texas State University, I was extremely excited at the prospect of providing excellent customer service to the students, staff, and faculty of the Accounting Department. Working within the Department of Housing and Residential Life with Texas State University for the last two years has familiarized me with Texas State’s policies and the offerings of the University. Also, it has inspired my drive to work in higher education to support students by being as helpful and informative as possible.
I would qualify as a good candidate for this program considering my experience in working in Human Resources. I know people will say this in their essay, although I really mean it. I have a Bachelor in Art and Science from Tennessee State University. When I first started college, I was going for Nursing on the other hand reconsidered and decided to major in Art and Science to finish school. After I graduated, it was hard for me to figure out what I want to do with my degree. Before promoting to human resources, I was currently working as a psychiatric technician for the State of Tennessee. When the opportunities of working in the Human Resource department as a HR Technician 2 open, I applied. I did not have any knowledge in this field yet
An Administrative Assistant is a broad job category that describes an individual who provides various kinds of administrative support to people and groups in business enterprises.
I am currently looking for work as an Administrative Assistant with the goal of becoming a Business Administrator or General Manager in the future. I have been in the workforce for a couple of decades now and have had the opportunity to experience many different career paths. Administrative Assistants have a broad range of duties that I think would utilize and hone my existing skills as well as offer me insight into how different departments function; this combined with my work history would make me a great future manager.
Currently, I am in the sales department in a jewelry store called Pandora. The duties here require that I initiate service through socializing with the customers and learning as well as remembering the knowledge of Pandora. This way, the customers get the feeling of trust and can thus move ahead with the purchase processes. This is where I assist all the customers that are settled on jewelry on building their bracelets and finally check out the bill for the customer.
I happen to learn ways of working, doing business successfully in one form or another having shadowed my father on many visits to his offices and business deals on various occasions. I believe I have the capacity to maintain work stress and stay positive. It is because I am a positive thinker. From my experience, when I was perceiving inequity or facing stresses from work, I tried to restore equity by extra effort and stay focused on my goal. Therefore, these personality traits help me become a team player. Besides, I have high ethical standards which drives me to embody integrity in my actions. Honesty, integrity are very important personality traits to managers because they have responsibility of financial stewardship. Managers who has high ethical standards are likely to establish a code of ethic to guide team members’ behavior and less likely to manipulate shareholders’ assets. Individuals’ action are value drive, if I am a manager, I value company’s benefit over personal interest and I believe my ethical behaviors helps me to better manage others by building a trustful relationship with my team
My work experience has been such a big part of my life. I see several of my strengths throughout my employment history; such as discipline, developer, and empathy. The discipline characteristic I possess has helped me to have structure to my day and helped me to make lists of daily tasks that needed to be accomplished. These things have really helped me in the workplace. So much that, I have exceeded expectations in my prior jobs and have received promotions.
The nature of the background and role of administrative office management makes it the most logical of all organizational areas to have responsibility for the management of the organization information (Velva Tyson). For this reason, I think that for us to have a better understanding about what Administrative Office Assistant really is or means within an organizational setting; we should first define it and then acknowledge the crucial role administrative office assistants play in all kinds of businesses.
