Abortion Conflict Summary
Abortion is the “act of removing a human embryo or fetus from the uterus of a pregnant woman prior to the completion of the full term of pregnancy.”1 Women may choose abortions for many reasons; some of which are social or economic. Social reasons may include bad timing, not being able to afford a child, not being ready or mature enough to support a baby or having relationship problems with the father. To a person who is pro-choice this is all understandable, however someone who is against abortion, pro-life, probably would not agree with some of these reasons.
Being pro-life means that people are opposed to the idea of abortion or terminating a pregnancy. A person could believe this for religious, moral or other reasons. Abortion is highly dangerous and bad for a woman’s health. The more abortions a woman has, the higher her risk of …show more content…

Abortion is a women’s health right and by making it illegal, congress would be taking away a constitutional right the all women should have. Pro-choice people believe that it is a personal matter that only the pregnant women has the right to decide. Bringing a child into the world is a highly personal matter that a mother should be able to decide for herself. When deciding whether or not to have a child, mothers and/or fathers have to think about these reasons plus their mental, emotional, physical, economic and working states in life. Having an abortion is a way to make sure that both the mother has control over her body and decisions. If abortions became illegal, women would turn to unsafe ways such as inducing miscarriages upon themselves, self-terminate, or turning towards cheap, unqualified people in unsanitary positions to do it. This increases the risk of death, infections, perforation of the uterus, embolisms, and hemorrhaging. Many lives are saved by having easily accessible abortion clinics and safe, affordable
