To feel the water on your face after you catch a huge wave, or to feel the exhilaration when you are 40 feet in the air suspended by your grip on rocks and a rope connected to the top, these feelings are only achieved through personal experience. Being a part of a group that puts each individual to their own physical and mental limits is a truly unforgettable experience. The adventure group I was part changed my life entirely for the better and was the most exciting thing I have ever been a part of. It is the most exciting thing I have done, both physically and mentally, not only because it gave me the adrenaline rush found very rarely but because it also taught me lessons I use every day to help me. For example, when the group went surfing and rock climbing, the experience was physically draining but I was also told that no matter how many times I will slip or fall, the goal will stay the same and I was one less mistake closer to reaching it. The effects of this group have impact and continue to impact my life in new ways. When I first joined the group I knew almost no one, so it was extremely hard to find the support I needed, and sometimes I was close to quitting but I did not. Instead I made myself go to each meeting and trip and eventually I made friends that would be there for me when I needed it and me them.
