Dual Major in Mass Media and Marketing, and a Minor in Business Administration

In making the decision to pursue a college education, I was not certain about what “I” wanted to do; my focus, however, was on what my parents wanted and their goals and aspirations for me. At this point in my life, my parents have and still continue to provide me with their ideals of success and how to attain success. My father stresses to me the importance of college and how without the proper education, there is nothing. My mother on the other hand, believes college is not everything; that there are many roads to success, the only problem is finding one that fits you. I am at the end of my first semester and one of the most memorable quote made by my English Professor Edward Braun, "Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life." After hearing this, I had a break down; wherein I analyzed myself and concluded that writing your own way and finding yourself is what college is for. What I love is being able to be creative, inventive, design and create things, as well as plan and coordinate events.

I was always one to want to make money meaning I was just the type of person to be independent and go after what I wanted. I liked the business arena and competing with other people's product. All through high school, I was known as an entrepreneur because I had many small business operations. My freshman year I sold and made necklaces and the following year, I decided to expand my creativity and start a clothing line, known as "Society's Rebel." It became so popular that I was asked to design and sell the school senior apparel. Leaving high school, I decided to start another clothing line, "Dope Panda." ...ass Media and Marketing. With being an Advertising Representative, it is an advantage to be knowledgeable in the business area. They are known for using many business tactics for daily task and assignments. For example, if a situation was to occur in which the consumer is unhappy with the product my company has put out; it would be my responsibility to use the knowledge from my business management minor to help fix the problem.

Creativity and being able to express myself through things have always been a passion for me, and for me to find a variety of careers that fits me, is overwhelming for me. I can solely say that when I complete my degrees and graduate, I will be successfully fulfilling my dream job. I will be able to go to work and not even consider work. I will be able to say that I achieved the goal of doing what I love, and not working a day in my life.
