Donald Trump’s views on immigration
Donald Trump’s views on immigration have been a part of who he is since the beginning of his presidential race. When Trump announced his presidential bid in 2015, he focused mostly on the issue of immigration. While the media can easily exaggerate speeches from presidential candidates, it is clear that Trump means what he says. Trump’s presidential bid is a clear example of how he views immigration.
To clarify, why don’t we start with a small introduction about Donald Trump and his speeches about immigration. First of all, Trump is a candidate for president of the United States, which is in a high position to speak up for aspects that may be causing many problems

Trump and his supporters in his speeches on immigration claim that those tragic events are because of Muslims or Islam religion itself without mentioning that in every part or place in the world has its good and its bad. He said in one of his speeches, in front of his supporters: “From the 9/11 hijackers, to the Boston Bombers, and many others, our immigration system is being used to attack us” (Trump’s website). That is what he says to prove that he is right in his decision about not giving visas to Muslims, which means not giving it to more than 1.6 billion people in the world. Moreover, as stated by PEW Research ” there were about 3.3 million Muslims of all ages living in the United States in 2015”(Mohamed). Did he give more facts or more proof to show he is right and fare enough to 3.3 million Muslims who live in the United States? No, he did not say more than that, except there were a few people who cheered after 9/11. What even makes it worse is that there were people who clapped and seemed to be satisfied with what he said without even proving …show more content…
His ideas have a negative perspective on immigration that gives a bad image of them. Overall, this should be considered when voting for Trump. If he becomes a president and does what he has said, there will be unfair persecution of immigration because of the ideas that Trump pushes. By doing what he has said, the American people will follow Trumps ideas and feel as though it is normal to be racist. His unrealistic ideas on immigration are what makes things worse and worse.

It has been nearly three decades since the last time Congress reformed our immigration system. From the Reagan era to the Obama administration, the country has undergone financial, social and political changes yet our immigration policies continue to be the same. Since the implementation of the last immigration reform in 1986, the United States government has spent nearly $187 billion ($220 billion when adjusted to 2013 dollars) in immigration enforcement agencies and programs alone (Meissner, Kerwin, Muzaffar & Bergeron, 2013). The high costs and the increasing public concern has led Americans to recognize the brokenness of our current immigration system and how it has not kept up with changing times. Research has shown 71% of Americans say undocumented immigrants should have a pathway to remain in the country legally (Pew Research Center, 2013). Although Congress and the White House have had numerous failed attempts to pass immigration reform in the past, H.R. 15 proposes an updated bipartisan system that can further secure the borders and solve problems surrounding immigration (Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act, 2013.

Donald Trump is a successful businessman who has accomplished more than most people could ever dream of. He started in the real estate business and has his own university, appeared on a T.V. show, is a billionaire, has many golf resorts, and is the president of the United States. He is criticized for many of his comments and political views. Some of these views are him wanting to build a wall to protect the United States from illegal immigrants and drugs, wanting to replace The Affordable Care Act, and banning people from Muslim countries to keep out terrorists. Although Donald Trump is often viewed as a controversial figure, he benefitted the United States of America by improving and creating jobs, proving that non-establishment politicians can still win the presidency, and by making America safer.

Formally, an immigrant can be defined as “a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.” But in some cases, there has been people like Cesar Chavez who have made a difference in history as an immigrant. Unfortunately, there are those who are not as lucky as Cesar Chavez and end up getting deported just like what happened in Operation Wetback in 1942. Now, they have made a way for immigrants to become U.S. citizens by taking the citizenship test. However, Donald Trump is one of the many people attempting to keep immigrants as far away from the U.S. Border laws are also another one of the many reasons why not many immigrants get the chance to enter this country because in many ways the laws that surround the border are in some ways unfair and not really the best. Immigration still remains a problem in our country
After 229 years, it is time for a major change in the White House. The change needs to be different, confident, and positive. The change that is needed to be great again is Donald Trump. Trump is already changing America for the better and is likely to win the Republican general election with his skyrocketing support from Americans. Trump shakes the nation with his energizing force, which gets people’s attention. He should be the president of the United States for many reasons. He is different from a regular politician, his confidence is contagious, he is tough on immigration, he wants to return manufacturing jobs to America, and lastly, he has more a more aggressive trade stance than his competitors.

There are different ways to look at the national issue of immigration. There are a lot of people against immigration for various reasons. One main one would be, that as a nation we fail to punish illegal activity, which in return encourages more illegal activity, inspire offenders, breeds public distrust, and confuses others from adhering to laws. Illegal activity that goes unpenalized, menaces American ethics of law and order. Criminal demeanors should not be tolerated, nor illegal aliens that show condescension for the ideals and laws that make America the land of freedom and ambition. These types of criminals exploit the hospitality and tenderness of the American society. These such...
Donald J. Trump has had many statements about the “issue” of immigration. His description toward immigrants, especially of the Mexican Origin were as follows: “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending there best. ... They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.” I believe Mr. Trump does not know what he is talking about, let me explain why: Firstly, being a rapist or criminal is not specific to whether you are an immigrant or not. Secondly, Mexico is not at all “sending” any people to the United States, it’s the people who want to better themselves and their families that come to the United States, of course there is the small majority of people who are here for the wrong reasons, but you can’t just group a whole race into one category. Lastly, Trump’s statement of “They’re bringing crime” is his personal opinion, because we have already established the statistics and facts to refute this statement.
As president is it very important that you be able to connect with a group of people and be compassionate about something or someone other than yourself. Trump is known to be racist and is especially against immigration from other countries. When you are arrogant and overlook global issues and certain groups of people, problems start to arise and this could be a potential harm if we elect Trump because of his constant need to bash other religions and ethnicities. Foreign relations would be completely ruined because of his open disrespect and uncaring opinions for any country other than the United States. He has not been shy to express his opinions about immigration, gender, and culture. Donald has also been known for his questionable, crude and derogatory comments and insults against woman, minorities and the lower class that led some to ask if this is really the man that should be the head of the office for the next four
The only reasons and assumptions that would support his claims is the failing security of our current border patrol and laws, the amount of money we’ve spent in other countries, and that the outcome of that is that other countries don’t respect us because of that reason. There are no sources stated of where he collected his facts so therefore I’m unable to say for sure how reliable or current his statements are because he fails to tell us where he obtained his information from. He also lacks in using visuals, images and graphics to support his arguments. He tends to use a lot of fallacies in his speech, including; Ad hominem, Post hoc fallacy, Flattery, Guilt by Association, Oversimplification, Either-or-fallacy, and False Authority. All of these fallacies are present throughout the entire speech. My impression of this speech is that he rambles on a lot and repeats himself constantly never getting to the points he’s “trying” to make and he never shows truth in what he says. His supposed purpose in running for the presidency is to “help our country”. I personally think he just feeds off of fame and doesn’t want to fail because he feels he needs to be the best at everything. I don’t think he has the qualifications to make any of the arguments he’s making because he’s a businessman, not a politician and that’s very evident in his speeches. I don’t accept any of his values or unstated assumptions because he doesn’t give me any actual facts to go with the statements that he makes and states he can fix everything but doesn’t say how or when he will do so. In my opinion this speech and many of his other speeches show that he wouldn’t make a good President for our
