Firstly, the most appreciated point of media is that it plays vital role in analyzing the government and the political personalities used to misguide and mislead the public by giving controversial statements about their opponents and by portraying one side of the incidence, policy and some political issue. Our politicians are also involved in corruption for example in previous years in the OGRA corruption case Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, two former prime ministers belonging to the PPP, were involved in corruption of 82 billion and in the illegal appointment of former Oil & and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) chief Tauqeer Sadiq. “The sources said that after appointment of the new NAB chairman, the bureau had decided to summon. Mr. Gilani had challenged the bureau to arrest him and said. “I have not only appointed Tauqeer Sadiq but also a number of high-ranking officials during my tenure as prime minister, including the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief of the Army Staff, air and naval chiefs and the Joint Chief of Staff Committee. “The 1964 Constitution of Afghanistan and the Press Law of July 1965 provided for freedom of the press subject to comprehensive articles of proper behavior. According to the Press Law, the press was free (i.e., independent of government ownership) but must protect the interests of the state and constitutional monarchy, Islam, and public order. When the government was overthrown in July of 1973, 19 newspapers were shut down. Western-style freedom of the press has methodically eroded during the regimes of dictatorship, communism, Mujahidin factions, and the Taliban ("Press Reference–Afghanistan").” When it comes to law enforcement, it is the duty of the ruling power to carry it out. But when the ruling power promulgates laws that sternly go against the freedoms guaranteed by previous edicts of the country, the civilians have no choice but to endure the reality of a deprived life.

Currently, the office of the United States Presidency is one of the most powerful positions in the world. The President has the power to influence Congress, the nation and the free world. However, the US Media, which is also the freest and most powerful press, has had control over the presidency. The advent of CNN, ABC, NBC and others has had the effect of being able to sway the population of the United States, either garnering support for a president or destroying his credibility. The media has permitted the spread of information, allowing the people to take a more active role in politics making the general will better known, but it has also made politicians and the public hostage to the ideas and opinions of reporters, who are often only after a gripping story and a large profit. The media has the power to sway the American public by reporting favorably or with disfavor on a candidate, thus making a presidential candidate the prisoner of entertainment companies. Thus it could be said that the American people lose their ability to truly know a candidate because of the media. Instead they vote according to what they are told by major publications rather than what they believe. In this paper, I will explore whether the Media is a valuable resource or a does it have an undue influence over the President and the American public?
