It is always a good idea to ask the employee their preference on how they would like to be referred to, which can avoid any misunderstanding in the future. The last aspect is crowd control. This is a very important aspect, because the managers are responsible for creating and maintaining the atmosphere in their area within the organization. Managers must not participate in any behavior that can be deemed as discriminatory, and must shut down the actions of any other employees participating in it as well. While managing diversity is challenging, managers have to take the lead in maintaining a work environment that welcomes differences and keeps its employees comfortable.
