The decision to study a degree in Primary School Education was an easy choice as it is an exciting opportunity, fulfilling my passion to be a teacher. I have wanted to pursue a teaching career from a very young age, it stemmed from being a sports leader and mentor to the younger children in my primary school. It was also strongly influenced by the birth and development of my younger relatives as the pace and range of their learning has amazed me. Watching them gain language and basic numeracy skills has highlighted to me that teaching is a very important profession and that there isn’t a more rewarding role than seeing a child achieve their full potential.
My work experience at a local primary school confirmed my career aspirations allowing me to extend my knowledge and skills to be able to support staff and pupils across the curriculum.
