Suicide. The Huffington Post writes, “Suicide is a decision made out of desperation, hopelessness, isolation and loneliness. The black hole that is clinical depression is all-consuming.”One of the worst ways you can go in the world. Some consider it the cheap way out and that you 're a coward. But on the other hand others understand suicide and why some people would take that route. In Death of Salesman, Willy Lowman is the main character in the play who suffers from conflicts in suicide. His mental health deteriorates throughout the play. I believe that Willy Lowman isn 't redeemable because he took the cheap selfish way out and throughout the play his demise leads to his downfall as the tragic hero. To begin, Willy Lowman took his life because he believe he wasn 't successful, and that shows his poor endurance to try. He believed that he was unsuccessful because he didn 't achieve all the wealth in the world. That shows his poor work ethic to me because he chose to take his life instead of keep trying. The fact that he never succeeded leads to his fall as a tragic hero according to Aristotle. Aristotle once said, “A man doesn 't become a hero until he can see the root of his own downfall.” Willy was oblivious to his downfall until his son Biff made it painfully obvious. He is a coward who didn 't look at all his options. Willy brought on more pain than the freedom to his family that he thought he would. His motives may have been honorable to his son if his son actually wanted to follow in his father 's footsteps, but he really just didn 't understand the situation. His mental health while bad could 've been helped. Willy 's suicide was more selfish rather than anything else. Sef Maul writes, “If you are truly a bad person,you won 't care about the bad things you do.” In conclusion, Willy Lowman is not redeemable in any way
