Traveling to a new country can be hard at times as the culture can be different from what we are accustomed to. While there can be some similarities between cultures, we cannot always assume what the other culture customs are without really getting to know the culture which can be expressed through cross cultural psychology. In addition, if we assume something based on our own culture we can disrespect the culture and its people. Furthermore, the first time I experience a big cultural difference was when I traveled to a small Pueblo in Tierra Nueva, San Luis Potosi, Mexico for the first time. My parents were both born in Mexico, so at a very young age they taught me how to speak Spanish and traditional Mexican food. Although, I was well accustomed to the language that they speak there, I was not necessarily accustomed to their behaviors practice there which includes; “norms, roles, customs, traditions, habits, practices and fashion” …show more content…

Before arriving to Mexico, I had some idea of what the Pueblo we were visiting would look like, as my parents had always told my sisters and I stories about their lives in Mexico.
