An incident in which a suicidal individual intentionally engages in life- threatening and criminal behavior with a lethal weapon or what appears to be a lethal weapon toward law enforcement officers or civilians to specifically provoke officers to shoot the suicidal individual in self-defense or to protect civilians is known as suicide by cops.
The question is “Suicide by Cop”, moral acceptability, it 's very simple, a person is killing themselves, at the expense of someone else. Taking a life always costs a person something, even if it 's a 'righteous kill ', you 'll remember the person killed, the rest of your life. Just like in "self-defense" you are morally and legally justified in using the amount of force reasonably necessary to confront and prevent the danger. If you have a reasonable and justifiable fear that the family is in impending danger of being killed, then you have the right to kill the person who poses the threat. "Luring" him to the window simply gives you the opportunity to exercise the right without putting the hostages at harm. There is no moral law or code of ethics which says "luring" another person is per se wrong.

Depending on what type of crime is being committed, for that some are more serious than others. In this exercise they are talking about sex crimes. With inmates doing time for sex crimes they have been found to recommit again by mental health professionals. Than upon being found dangerous by a jury, they are either confined or put on strict supervision, this are morally and legally justified for the protection of the community. Often times with people that have committed sex crimes they do reoffender even being on strict supervision, the last moral option to handle this to confined them. The questioning is it morally permissible to punish for future crimes, for these type of crimes it is for the protection of the community.

In the event that a prisoner (particularly a sex offender) does complete rehabilitation, he carries with him a stigma upon reentering society. People often fear living near a prior drug addict or convicted murderer and the sensational media hype surrounding released felons can ruin a newly released convict’s life before it beings. What with resident notifications, media scare tactics and general concern for safety, a sex offender’s ability to readapt into society is severely hindered (554). This warrants life-skills rehabilitation applied to him useless, as he will be unable to even attempt to make the right decision regarding further crime opportunities.
Criminology is the scientific study of the causes and prevention of crimes. Criminology also uses a vast amount of theories to explain peoples’ actions, mental state, and their drive for committing crimes. Some crimes have monetary benefits, while other crime are committed in revenge or in spite of another, which would be called crimes of passion. Because it can be sometime difficult to understand why certain crime are committed, the only thing we can do is use theories to better decipher thoughts, morals, and reasons behind committing crimes.
Intuitional theory it’s defined in different ways for instance, “Institutional theory addresses the central question of why all organizations in a field tend to look and act the same (DiMaggio & Powell, 1983).” This definition illustrates how organizations change their response to their institution based on the environment, and can achieve stability in their own. An organization when it comes to surviving tents to turns its focus outwardly in order, to acknowledge their influence constituencies and the value that they represent. Police agencies are ideals samples of an institutional organization, for the reason being that they have to display in their organizational performance and policy’s that they care about citizens concerns.

Moreover, whatever one decides to do in this case is down to their personal values. If a person feels moral justification for their act, then they would act on that principle. Every aspect has this main feature; a person has to live with their decision. Therefore, the value that one puts on their morality is more important than the act or the consequences.

Logically would a police officer have shot to kill simply to commit murder in broad daylight with witnesses? Without all of these questions being answered with facts and being quick to judge is not only ridiculous, but it leads to more issues such as rioting and looting. It will also lead to more shootings. In Western cultures imprisonment is the universal method of punishing criminals (Chapman 571). According to criminologists locking up criminals may not even be an effective form of punishment. First, the prison sentences do not serve as an example to deter future criminals, which is indicated, in the increased rates of criminal behavior over the years. Secondly, prisons may protect the average citizen from crimes but the violence is then diverted to prison workers and other inmates.
