An incident in which a suicidal individual intentionally engages in life- threatening and criminal behavior with a lethal weapon or what appears to be a lethal weapon toward law enforcement officers or civilians to specifically provoke officers to shoot the suicidal individual in self-defense or to protect civilians is known as suicide by cops.
The question is “Suicide by Cop”, moral acceptability, it 's very simple, a person is killing themselves, at the expense of someone else. Taking a life always costs a person something, even if it 's a 'righteous kill ', you 'll remember the person killed, the rest of your life. Just like in "self-defense" you are morally and legally justified in using the amount of force reasonably necessary to confront and prevent the danger. If you have a reasonable and justifiable fear that the family is in impending danger of being killed, then you have the right to kill the person who poses the threat. "Luring" him to the window simply gives you the opportunity to exercise the right without putting the hostages at harm. There is no moral law or code of ethics which says "luring" another person is per se wrong.

Depending on what type of crime is being committed, for that some are more serious than others. In this exercise they are talking about sex crimes. With inmates doing time for sex crimes they have been found to recommit again by mental health professionals. Than upon being found dangerous by a jury, they are either confined or put on strict supervision, this are morally and legally justified for the protection of the community. Often times with people that have committed sex crimes they do reoffender even being on strict supervision, the last moral option to handle this to confined them. The questioning is it morally permissible to punish for future crimes, for these type of crimes it is for the protection of the community.
