Therefore, I learned at the end of the interview that this career that I chose to pursue is very diverse. Meaning, there are endless routes, that branches out from this one field of study. The possibilities are endless; however, hard work is still expected. This interview did not reshape my objectives and goals. It has rather made me realize to stick to my goals and objectives. It has reminded me, to continue to be the best; by learning from the best and surrounding myself with the best.
It was stated in section fifteen that more and more people in the workforce will have to manage themselves and have to place themselves where they can make the greatest contribution. The section A Challenge for Individuals also said that entrepreneurial society individuals face a challenge which is to exploit as an opportunity the need for continual learning and re-learning. This then made me think about the whole process of the program. The Management Trainee Program specifically Seaoil’s Management Trainee Program allows us fresh graduates, to know ourselves better by allowing us to have a deeper understanding of what and who we are as an individual, by making us discover our strengths, our own way of performing and accomplishing tasks and meeting goals, and assessing if our values align that of the company as well as letting us gather more information and store more knowledge. It will not only make us aware, understand, and experience the different departments and operations of the company. Upon starting, it first made me wonder why unlike other MT programs of other companies, we do not directly get immersed in the company’s operations and why do we even have to read a book and submit a book report. But after several sessions and after reading The Essential Drucker, I have realized that this MT program
Internships completed by students in certain degree programs are quite popular in most colleges and universities. An internship is used so classroom based learning in a degree program can be applied to practical situations in the real world (Jordan, Burns, Bedard & Barringer, 2007). When students are placed with an agency, there is a real possibility that a portion of students will witness actions they believe is unethical or illegal. During a study conducted within four universities, many students that participated in an internship program within the criminal justice system reported that they had observed behavior they suspected to be illegal behavior for a law enforcement agency. (Jordan et al. 2007). Due to this ongoing problem, colleges

I have learned that I am not the amazing communicator I once thought I was. I have many skills to practice and develop to become an effective communicator. Discovering my working style has allowed me to look more closely at my roles in various groups at work and understand why these groups don’t always work. I was also able to take away a better understanding for my learning styles and how to embrace them instead of trying to conform to a more traditional way of learning. These skills will aid me in my quest to be the first person in my family to earn a Bachelor’s degree. I can, and I will

Internship experience is essential for students to gain hands-on experience for future full time jobs and differentiate ourselves among competitors, especially for us who are taking MBA courses. Based on the network we built and skillsets gained through the internship, we could know more clearly whether we want to dedicate ourselves into related fields and industries. Besides, internship is a great opportunity to build important network that advances your career life and apply what you learned from school into the real business world. Therefore, you could compare the potential differences between theory and reality to pinpoint ideal future careers more accurately.
The quarter has finally come to an end, and with that, I close out my internship and this class that went along with it. It was a great experience and I leave equipped with a new set of skills that are preparing me for the world ahead. As I write this reflection paper, I think back to the very first week when I set up two goals for myself to focus on and hope to achieve throughout the following weeks. My first goal was to develop a better understanding of myself within the work place, and my second was to develop a strong network to jumpstart my career. Both of my goals were achieved, however, I don’t feel that either of my goals will ever be complete. I believe that you can always formulate a better understanding of yourself, and you can always network to develop a stronger tree of connections. I know for a fact, however, that I reached satisfaction with both of my goals at this internship at MKI and know whole-heartedly that I did everything in my power to exhaust my resources in
Young individuals who leave college with their perfect degrees think that having a degree will make them competitive and ensure them a career. But in today’s society, this is simply not the case anymore. A degree is not enough to be competitive which is why it is crucial for students to participate in internships so that they can stand out. Internships are different, they might be paid or unpaid, required or optional, you can get credit or not for it. Internships have many benefits for all involved: students, employers, and universities. The employers get to have access to qualified employees who have new ideas and energy, allow them to save money, and provide flexible schedules which might be important for them. The universities get to strengthen their ties with the community and receive feedback from the employers. However, of those involved, students have the most to gain from these internships which is why I believe they should be mandatory for all students. The students gain life-changing advantages such as developing important qualities, understanding if they made the right choice for their degree, and increasing
