In the 21st century humans live under a constitution which protects their basic rights as a human being, the same does not go for animals though it should (Singer 22). Even though in today’s society people believe that through animal testing and selling animal made products it will accumulate to something positive in the long run, animal testing and the use of animals for clothes should be banned because in the end animals are mistreated and even killed during the process. “Animals deserve respect, argues author and animal rights philosopher Tom Regan, not because it is good to be kind but because as sentient creatures they satisfy the same criteria humans possess for being valuable” (Frey 25). In today’s society fur may still be looked at as a luxury to wear on a night out in the town, but the process of getting that fur coat on someone’s shoulders is a gruesome process that would hopefully make anyone shimmy out of that coat as fast as possible. From the hunting or poaching of the poor wild animal and killing it practically in cold blood seeing as there is no humane reason as to why they killed the animal. To sometimes holding the animal captive and repeatedly shaving the animals’ fur and waiting for it to grow back only to repeat the horrible process again. Animals are beautiful exquisite creatures that should be loved and cared for. They bring laughter and companionship to millions of people around the world. The more people that are aware of animal cruelty the faster making a change in today’s society can be addressed, sparing the lives of animals everywhere. For those people who are still in the dark about animal cruelty “steps should be taken to promote disclosure so as to fortify market process and to promote democratic discussion of the treatment of animals” to help those people achieve a better understanding of the situation (Leslie J).
