Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin are two of the most sadistic dictators of the past century. They both reigned terror in Europe during World War II. Fueled by rage and anger, Hitler and Stalin rose to power and exploited their beliefs throughout Germany and Russia. Stalin turned Russia into a Communist country while Hitler was turning Germany against Jews. The leadership of these dictators brought death and fear to many who opposed them. Hitler and Stalin both shared deprived childhoods, vicious fathers, affectionate mothers, problems with women and paranoia. Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were defined by their unpleasant childhoods, prejudiced beliefs, and obsession with power.

On December 21st, 1879, Joseph Stalin was born in Gori, Georgia. Controlled and beaten by his abusive, alcoholic father, Joseph later became a violent dictator who suffered from an inferiority complex and paranoia. As a young boy, Stalin was one to get angry quickly and hold grudges against people. Hoping Joseph might become a priest, his mother enrolled him in a church choir. In 1894, Joseph entered the Tiflis Theological Seminary to begin his studies on Russian Orthodox Christianity. When he attended school, teachers noticed a stubborn and sadistic side that Stalin had. He became attracted to Revolutionary terrorism and Marxism. After five years in the seminary, Joseph was expelled for revolutionary activities.

Ten years later after Joseph’s birth, Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889, in Braunau, Austria. Like Joseph, Hitler was beaten regularly by his father who was a strict disciplinarian.
