Special Population Interview on Emily

932 Words2 Pages

The person I selected for this interview is a Caucasian 22 year old female. For the sake of protecting her identity we will call the female “Emily”. Emily is a native of Mount Sterling and she has no siblings. Emily loves traveling to Pigeon Ford with her family and she is a fan of Carrie Underwood and Tyler Perry movies.

Emily also said that her biggest pet peeve is people who abuse children and she can’t stand liars. Emily values her friends and family along with honest, respect and education. She believes these core values help people succeed in their life. Emily also believes that everyone is equal in life and that we should all treat others the way we want to be treated.

During our interview Emily talked about a teacher who impacted her life so much during her high school years. Emily said that her teacher told her to “make a difference” and that quote has always stuck with her since that day she told her. Emily said that her dream job would be working with kids in a school setting as a family resource worker. Emily talked about how fun is an important value in life as well because a person can’t be serious all the time and that it’s healthy to live and laugh because laughing is the best medicine out there.

Emily and I were not only different in ethnicity but in other ways as well. I am 25 years old. I have not traveled outside of Mount Sterling but I hope to someday once I accomplish my goals with college. My dream job is also different from Emily’s because I hope to work in the medical field with my degree and possibly work with domestic violence cases. Emily I did have the same values and beliefs when it comes to being successful in life.

Emily and I also have the same but also different pet peeves. As stated...

This was another interesting interview for me because as I stated earlier it showed me how diverse and different I am from another individual. Another important thing I learned prior to even taking this course is that different does not always mean mad. Two people can be different but still have things in common and build a relationship with one another whether it is personal or professional.

I believe these interviews have been a great starting point for me when it comes to working with clients in field. I know I still have some things to learn when it comes to working with clients but I am believe I am off to a pretty good start thus far.
