The sound of clicking keys fills the room, nervous children sit quietly at their desk working diligently. Teachers have been preparing their students for months, yet students still stress about the writing SOL. Every year students stress about the writing SOL, but they shouldn’t as long as you come up with a solid plan, use the plan to create an essay, and if they revise the the essay.

To begin with, the most important part of the writing process is the plan. This is because a well detailed and thought out plan will make it easier to write the essay. The plan sets up the writing into a format that can easily be put into an essay. Next, a plan is a good place to write down ideas that you have about the topic and seeing which idea you have the most information on. On the plan, come up with three main reasons to support the idea, then, for each reason come up with two examples. For each example, have two to three details about it. The plan is also a good place to write down a hook and a good thesis. The more effort that is put into the plan, the easier it will be to come up with a final essay. …show more content…

When writing , make sure to have a solid introduction with a hook that will grab the reader's attention, a bridge sentence to connect the hook to the thesis, and a one sentence thesis that summarizes the point being made. When writing the three main paragraphs, try to use personal examples or experiences to make the story more interesting. In the essay, it is also important to have a good conclusion that summarizes the point that is trying to be made, but without repeating the thesis statement. Another idea is that you can create a rough draft on a seperate sheet of paper, making it easier to type up the final
