Have you ever struggle trying to learn something? I have. Learning English was a painful for me. I learned English as a second language. English is very important. It is an internal language of education and business. It may not be the most spoken language in the world, but it is the official language of many countries. Be able to know English open up a lot of opportunities. I was very scared to learn English. I was struggle trying to learn. I overcame it thankfully. I could say that I’m smarter now than I used to be. Only when struggle will give a brighter future. Back when I was 9 years old. I was weak in English. She later came up to me and said “I will would instruct you.” She is a kind woman when she is not in a teaching mode. When she turns into a teaching mode, she is as mean as a drill sergeant. She would yell, and said many mean things to me. Thus I knew that those painful words meant for me to be a better learner. I could feel the feeling of hope for me to have a better future out of those words. She had a thought like my aunt, Fone. She wanted me to have a better future. Another reason that she wanted to instruct me could also be because her husband is from Germany. His name is Thomas. He seem to like me a lot because he didn’t have any kids. He would buy me things and asked me to hangout with him. The problem was I couldn’t communicate with him. My aunt told me to go to her house every day morning to learn English. Just like bad people with karma. They can never escape from their karma. I felt like I could never escape from learning English even though I didn’t want to learn. I was struggle learning everyday. I didn’t like my aunt to teach me. She would always be mad at me when I couldn’t answer her questions. Let me tell you, it was boring, but it was my opportunity to keep myself on learning. After one year of studying English on a computer, my step dad named Scott put me in school. I was very scared. Thankfully I did okay and I didn’t fail any classes. I had an opportunity to take an English second language class. My teacher named Ms. Roca. She was a beautiful kind lady. She was a woman that gave a big impact toward my life. One of the time, she gave me a book called Of mice and Men by John Steinbeck. The book is about the loyal friendship between George and Lennie, Two workers who had a dream that one day they would have their own land. Unfortunately, Their dream can never become true. I loved that book so much. From a kid who didn’t like to read English books, I became liking to read after then. Just like a kid that doesn’t like to try new food, but when they try it they love it. The book motivated me to keep reading other books. I could say that I was smarter in English after all my struggles. I learned my struggles and overcame
