Roasted Pumpkin Soup Roasted Pumpkin Soup, I know what you’re probably thinking, pumpkin in soup?! YES, PUMPKIN in soup is really EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHANG! This Roasted Pumpkin Soup is gloriously creamy and velvety, a little smoky thanks to chili powder and crispy bacon bits on top. This should really be on your table this holiday season for Thanksgiving or Christmas, even for your New Year’s Day meal. This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled to feed a small crowd for your dinner parties. Tips for this Roasted Pumpkin Soup The most important tip I have for this soup is to use FRESH pumpkin. I know you want just want to use that can of pumpkin you picked up from the grocery store. I mean you could use it if you are really in a pinch, but roasting a pumpkin really intensifies the flavor and natural sugars in the pumpkin so it tastes better than the steaming process that canned pumpkin manufacturers use. It only takes about 30-35 minutes to roast a pumpkin in the oven so doesn’t take that much effort or time to complete this soup. The type of pumpkin you use in this Roasted Pumpkin Soup matters! You do not want to roast a Jack O’ Lantern Pumpkin because it will be really stringy after it cooks and we want a really smooth pumpkin puree for this soup. …show more content…

When most people hear the word “Mexican”, a person instantly thinks of food. This is because Mexicans have been known through out America as a culture to have a variety of some of the best dishes. Hispanics males take pride in working, just as the females take pride in cooking. The women don’t do it just for the heck of it, they make a form of art and also competition. Every Mexican family has a person who competes with another, to see who can make the best dish. Mexicans have different dishes from soups to rice. The one soup you will here in the Mexican generation is pozole. This is a soup that consists of pork, hominy, and spicy herbs. This recipe has been in my family for a more then a decade, and now I share it with you. In order to cook this soup and make as good as Mexicans do, you must possess a certain passion for cooking. Most Mexicans do so do you?
...offee mingling with that of the simmering chicken gave the dish an extra panache. I have tried substituting fireplace smoke with some success, but have been unable to duplicate the smell of the boiling coffee using that method. A wood cookstove or parlor stove topped with an old- fashioned percolator is preferable if one can be obtained. The meal should be eaten in the kitchen where it was prepared and served on a table large enough for everyone to gather around. Conversation, laughter and reminiscing should be encouraged throughout the meal, and please, no television.

This is a disgrace! To all the turkey’s at Thanksgiving! forty-five million turkey’s are cooked a year. Not only are those awful humans eating us, now they are entrapping us in disgusting cages and making us eat only corn and soybeans. That’s not even the worst part, they put something in our food called vitamins and minerals. I heard yesterday from keith, my turkey friend, that they talk about how they feed turkeys healthy things so that the people who buy the turkeys won’t get sick or something like that. They also say we taste different at different ages.
Cultures are becoming obsessed with pumpkin spice flavors because it’s just a good flavor. Other reasons why people are obsessed because it’s a newer thing. I really don’t know why everybody likes it I guess just because it’s good. I mean how could you pass up a pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin spice Pringles, pumpkin spice doughnuts or anything like that. People also like pumpkin spice latte because it’s caffeine. The Pumpkin Spice Latte is a coffee drink made with a mix of traditional fall spice flavors.
Combine ingredients in a small pot and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. When it thickens, remove and add toppings of choice. Dig in. Note: Coconut milk, soy milk, or other substitute will work in this recipe.

The Unites States now, is a place of opportunity, that is assimilated and made up of different races, cultures, religions, etc. in which we once used to call “immigrants”. Within the 1800s and early 1900s, the place we all know and love, “America” was also then referred to as the Melting Pot. The term “Melting Pot” basically referred to the idea that all different kinds of people from a widespread of places came together to create one, and overtime, that’s exactly what happened to our country. In spite of the fact that some people, such as Bourne and Zangwill felt as if this was a substantial event that occurred within this time period, others, like Schultz disagreed and in fact, thought this was a careless idea that would soon corrupt the U.S. and all it had become.
During fall, the leaves fall, the temperature drops, and people sit around a table and say what they are thankful for. While we are consuming pounds of turkey and stuffing, the Pilgrims are to thank for the annual feast. Because the meaning of this holiday is to not stuff your face with endless amount of carbs, we should be reminded of how grateful we are for what we own. Thanksgiving was a very memorable time in U.S. history.
In a separate bowl cut the large scallions and half medium cabbage to small pieces. Peel and chop the potato, malanga, carrots, turnip, yam and the butter squash. Wash the vegetables and put in a separate boiling water. Cover it and cook it in high heat for an hour. After an hour reduce the heat and add scotch bonnet pepper. Once everything is fully cooked remove it from the pot. Used the cooking water to blend the squash into a puree. For the best flavor pour the vegetables, the squash and the cooking liquid into the pot that cooked the meat. After that add parsley, thyme, and broken spaghetti. If there’s no spaghetti, you can substitute with macaroni. Let them all cook for about an hour or until tender. Once done combine meat with soup and enjoy. You can eat this soup with bread has a side dish.

Jack Skellington or the Pumpkin King is the protagonist in Burton’s Nightmare before Christmas. He lives in Halloween Town where he is the star, the local celebrity. This town is a world that is purely dark in emotion with a murky color palette. (Chambers 18) It is an environment where monstrosities, cruelty, and fear are celebrated. This is evident in the introduction song This is Halloween where we are introduced to some of Halloween land’s terrifying inhabitants,“ I am the one hiding under your bed. Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red/I am the one hiding under your stairs. Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair”. (Thompson) Jack has played the role of the pumpkin king for what seems like forever and he has grown bored at his lack of progress, with living the same way for all of eternity. This stagnation pushes Jack into a state of despair. The colors of his clothes and environment symbolize the emotional struggle of the pumpkin king. When he faces the vivid color schemes they motivate him to take action and take back his life, because to Jack vibrant colors represent warmth and contentment. (McMahon
