Process of Making a Pumpkin Roll

Thinking back to the holidays that you have experienced as a child, can you

remember the mouth-watering smell of pumpkin filling the air? Pumpkin pies and

pumpkin rolls are two of the most famous of the pumpkin traditions that can be carried on

throughout the years. The pumpkin roll, which tends to be my favorite, can easily be

made if you follow the simple instructions that are explained throughout this paper. You

have to bake, cool, and fill the roll with its filling, and you will have a total masterpiece.

The ingredients that are needed to make a mouth-watering pumpkin roll include Crisco or

Pam, two-thirds of a cup of pumpkin, three eggs, one and two-thirds of a cup of powdered

sugar, one cup of sugar, one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of soda, two teaspoons of

cinnamon, three-fourths of a cup of flour, one-third of a cup of chopped nuts, one

tablespoon of melted butter, eight ounces of cream cheese, one-half of a teaspoon of

vanilla, a cookie sheet, an oven, a dish towel, wax paper, and saran wrap.

To begin this tedious process you must first put the two-thirds of a cup of

pumpkin, three eggs, one cup of sugar, one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of soda, two

teaspoons of cinnamon, and three-fourths of a cup of flour into a large bowl, and stir them

together. Once the ingredients are mixed thoroughly, grease your cookie sheet with either

Crisco or Pam, and line it with wax paper. Pour the mixture onto the cookie sheet.

Sprinkle the one-third of a cup of chopped nuts on top, and bake it at three hundred

seventy-five degrees for fifteen minutes.

Once the allotted amount of time has passed, remove the cookie sheet from the

oven, and dump the half-finished roll onto a dish towel that has been heavily sprinkled

with two-thirds of a cup of powdered sugar. The wax paper should still be clung to what

is now the top of the cake, so you must remove the paper before you can continue. Roll

up the cake into the form of a jelly roll. Next, you can either refrigerate this roll for one

hour or put it in the freezer for fifteen minutes.

While the roll is cooling, you need to make the filling that will go inside the roll.

To do so, you must combine one cup of powdered sugar, one tablespoon of melted butter,

eight ounces of cream cheese, and one-half of a teaspoon of vanilla into a bowl, and
