Merriam -Webster defines hope as “a desire accompanied by expectation or belief in fulfillment.” I see hope as neither polished nor refined. Hope sometimes is misunderstood as a characteristic that has to do with religion; however, hope is used in more than just a religious sense. Although hope is not a physical attribute, one can easily see the physical appearance of the person change, who has hope. Hope fuels desire to not give up, it provokes a positive outlook on the future, and makes way for change. Hope has a profound meaning in my life. To possess hope, one must remain hopeful no matter what adversity faced or no matter how hard times may get. Hope is a belief that through any circumstance everything will get better or come out on the good side. Hope is powerful, and in times of uncertainty and hesitation, it is usually the last thing relied on for encouragement; nonetheless, hope can be beneficial with inspiring the soul when odds are against probability. I have seen hope first hand from the people who mean the most to me. From experience, hope gives one the positivity to make it through hard times. It is an unparalleled force that one will hold onto in times of great difficulty. It makes it possible for people to be inspired by injustices, and it makes it possible for the change to occur without problems. Hope has the power to change many aspects of a person’s life, only if they allow it to. Many people with hope, that are united for one cause, are able to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks. Take the people of Berlin, Germany for example. With hope in their hearts, masses of people together were able to overcome a world power and bring down the Berlin Wall. This speaks volumes of all the possibilities hope provides for everyday
