Food Inc Paper

This essay will be about the book called Food Inc written by Karl Weber. The topics of this is essay will be based on obesity, pesticides, and animal farming. The discussion of this paper will be the problems of the topic in the first paragraphs and the second paragraphs will be about the solutions for the topic issues which is happening in the US. Each topic will be going in depth about the issues that is happening today with the food we are consuming each day. Obesity crisis is currently increasing dramatically over the years. Researchers are discovering that pesticides have caused cancer and other illnesses. Animal farming is becoming a big issue about how top 4 companies own 80 percent of the market and what we are eating today. Those were glimpses of what will be further explained in this paper.

Obesity

The obesity crisis is turning out to be a huge issue today in America. According to CDC, more than one third of the adults from the US are obese. Those related conditions consist of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and many others. Also from CDC, the estimated medical cost of obesity in the US annually was $147 billion in 2008. Nowadays, obesity is spreading to the children because of the fast food industry targeting the younger audience to their food. Fast food was created very cheap and turned out to be one of the main causes of obesity. People are now consuming way too many calories and the calories that they are consuming from fast food is all fat calories. All of the ingredients have no nutritional quantity for the body. Finally in conclusion, the topics that were talked in this paper where obesity, pesticides, and animal farms. The obesity crisis is rapidly increasing because of neglecting of a well-balanced meal, making effort to workout, and considered to spurge more on the supermarket than at a cheap fast food restaurant. Next topic was pesticides which workers are developing pesticides poisoning, linked to cancer, and all of the pesticides need to be removed and must develop a safer way of pest control. The last topic was animals farms, animals should be treated respectively and have better staying conditions before they are getting slaughtered.
