Why People Should Take Naps

684 Words2 Pages

How come millions of adults take naps? Isn’t napping just for little kids? Wrong. Napping doesn’t only help children; it can also benefit adults too. Napping is like taking painkillers. When you take painkillers, you do not feel the pain that you had earlier. After a while, you forget that the pain was even there and everything goes back to normal. If you do not take the painkiller even though you are in extreme pain, you will suffer and also be distracted by how much pain you are in. The same is with naps. After you take a nap, you do not feel the fatigue you had earlier. You can then continue whatever you were doing before. If you don’t take a nap even though you are exhausted, mentally or physically, you will be distracted and just be thinking about getting sleep. People should take naps to benefit them throughout their day and lives. Naps can boost performance, relieve stress, and prevent obesity.
Performance can be improved with a nap. How well you perform is determined by how much energy you have. It is like how a phone uses the power it has. For example, I often get tired by the end of the school day and have no energy left to do my homework well. I can still do my assignments, but it would be very poor quality. By taking a little nap, I can “charge up” and get the energy I need to do good work. This extra energy allows me to put more effort into doing my homework instead of just doing it without caring about how well it is done. I can put in more effort and energy into completing my assignments because I know that I will not run out of energy soon. The same goes for a phone. The more power a phone has to use, the better it will perform since it knows that it has a lot of energy left in store and will not run out of power ...

Taking naps can help people, not only throughout the day, but also throughout their lives. Taking a nap every day can improve working capabilities by giving more energy to use. Naps can also ease anxiety and thus, allow you to think straight when necessary. A physical perk of napping is that it can help you avoid becoming overweight and allowing you not to have to experience the deadly effects of it. To get all these benefits, all you have to do is take one quick nap during the afternoons, and you’ll start to feel better mentally and physically.
