This essay is going to show how the Walt Disney company relates to the media circuit of culture. Walt Disney Company was originally produced by American’s coperation since 1923 in Hollywood. After the production of two movies, the company were struggling because of the Pitfall distributions rights. However, the company then created Mickey Mouse, this can help the company to obtain their distribution rights. However, again the Disney Company could not afford to make the following animated movies due to the cost of production. By the time 1971, the team finally succeed which goes in to the ‘big six’ chart. This process is called Disneynization which is similar to Mcdonaldization in Ritzer arguments. As Walt Disney are already being recognize as a transnational corporation. Therefore, it can cause many problems albeit some issues were not noticeable. As an example, Ritzer stated that there are four main characteristics in Mcdonaldization, which he measures efficiency, calculability, predictability and control. On the other hand, for example, Disney also has four major measurements and they are emotional labour, theming, dedifferentiation of consumption and merchandising.
In the emotional labour aspects, the employees need to be cheerful all the time when doing their work but it can be difficult for them to do this as Bryman found out that they need to face some of the troublesome customers that abuse the workers. Thus, the employees need to be highly trained. In other words, this can cost many to trained them.

An example of it is there was an episode in Disney Channel called ‘Jessie’ and after the show has been put on screen, some people were offended by it, this programme was about throwing a gluten free pancake to an actor that has celiac disease, this sickness can cause them severe skins problems due to the fact that they have allergies to the gluten free foods.
