The Victimless Creator and the Victim

656 Words2 Pages

Have you ever wondered why something bad ever happened in a person’s life, it is because they play the victim’s role instead of wising up and becoming a Creator. Skip Downing describes both a creator and victim in a well thought out piece. A victim is a person that blames everyone for all the bad things that happen in their life. Instead of accepting responsibilities for their mistakes they try to find a way out. A creator is a good, whole hearted person that brings new life into all situations. They try to think of the most positive outcome. A victim and a creator have two different mindsets, and they have different characteristics that makes them who they are (Downing ).

My son’s father Derrick plays the role of a victim. He blames everyone else for why he can’t succeed in life. He says “you broke up with me, so all this stuff is going to make me give up”. He always want someone to jump when he say jump. He says “I did it for you, why can’t you do it for me”. He ask me to spend time with him and if I say no he gets mad. He complains about not being able to do this or do that. He says he can’t buy the baby some diapers because no job wants to hire him. He makes you feel bad about what he has done to hurt you. He says “I only did it because you did it first”. He always ask for a ride to different places. He ask for money just so he can do something that’s gone stop him from getting a job. He is a very unconsidered person, he will wait until the last minute to do something. Like I was at work he could had taken care of his business, but instead he waited until I went to go handle my business and at that time we did not have no one to watch our son.

...set of a creator, I know in my heart I will move further in my life with many successes. I want to be able to provide a better life for my son and I. I want to teach my son that he can do anything he wants if he puts mind to it.
Skip Downing defines creators and victims in a very well thought out piece. He defines creator as someone being in control of their destiny. He defines victim as someone who uses a lot of excuses as to why they can’t have success. It is possible to be a creator a person has to change their views on all of their situations and find the best outcome. It takes a lot of stress of a person’s shoulders when they know for a fact they are in control of their own destiny. Are you the creator or the victim?
