Tupac Amaru Shakur one of the most influential, controversial rappers to have ever existed. He grew up fatherless and at times motherless because of drugs, violence, and twisted ideas. Through struggle and hardships he found his flow. He showed the world that something can come from nothing. From joining up with the Digital Underground to his single debut he worked up he grew his fan base. As he grew in fame so did the East and West rivalry. Soon after a sexual assault scandal Tupac was shot in his studio. After recovering he was sentenced, succeeding his incarceration he signed with a new record label. Not long after being out Tupac returned to production recording albums faster than he could sell them. He seemed to be doing good and was until one night after leaving an event he was gunned down. Tupac really did not get to meet his dad until he became an adult. Without a father him and his mother moved around, so it was kind of hard for him to get comfortable anywhere. When they finally settled he attended a school for the arts. There he explored ballet, dancing, and acting that is not the only thing that he discovered though. While living in Baltimore, he discovered rap and began performing as MC New York ("Tupac Shakur." Bio.com. 1). So he grew up without a father, a role model, no one to look up to. That is not the only hardships he faced; in fact his mom was in jail while she was pregnant with him. He was originally named Lesane Parish Crooks. Many people have this one thing they ALWAYS do, and Tupac’s was wear a bullet-proof vest. It is so ironic how the night he didn't wear one he ended up getting shot. Tupac was cremated the day after he died. Now who gets cremated the day after they die, no autopsy no nothing. They can’t did him up like they wanted to do with Elvis Presley or former President Abraham Lincoln. The Cadillac that the murderer was in was never found. If someone would have robbed a bank or casino in Las Vegas the police would've been all over the scene. In Atlanta, GA., if someone was shot the police would look for the gunman immediately. However the city that the shooting was in was only about eight blocks who could run away in a city of eight blocks that fast.

All his music talked about the reality of black lives and the struggle of being black not only for black men but also for black women. His songs gave hope to African Americans, and to help them see that black was/is beautiful. Hook--Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace) were different in many ways, but there were also some major similarities between them. While they were both extremely influential rappers in their day, there was a lot of fighting between them considering the fact that Tupac was a West Coast rapper, and Biggie --The Notorious B.I.G.-- was an East Coast rapper. Tupac tended to be a lot more poetic and respectful to women he had better lyrics than Biggie, but Tupac had little flow.
