Then goes through the processes of how the paleontologists addressed this new find once it was confirmed that it was a dinosaur fossil. Extinction of Dinosaurs Many different theories exist as to why the dinosaurs went extinct. We know for sure most dinosaurs died out around 65 million years ago. The majority of scientists agree on a number of theories as to what brought the end of the dinosaurs. The most popular theory is that an asteroid ended the reign of the dinosaurs. Another theory, massive climate change in the pre-historic atmosphere, caused all the dinosaurs to die. Some scientists believe that mammals out competed dinosaurs
as large as the Spinosaurus. They are very large, but their brain was small. They are classified as a Saurischis dinosaur. They were 40 feet long and weighed 13 tons. It is believed these large dinosaurs preyed on large plant eaters like the Titanosaur. They are believed to have had a very good sense of smell. They had shorter and narrower teeth than the T. Rex. Their teeth were good for slicing flesh. It is believed they hunted in packs. Fossils of the Giganotosaurus have been found in Argentina
