Over the last decade technology has become increasingly advanced therefore has changed the way we learn in an educational setting, as more money is being used to buy educational technology for students to enhance their learning experience:“In the last five years UK schools have spent more than £1 billion on digital technology. From the development of interactive games it allows students to select a range of levels that meet their needs and capabilities, as they build upon their learning through educational games they can progress on to higher levels which reflects the students understanding. Many schools have incorporated technology into their teaching as: “The teachers at Summit Public Schools in California don’t stand in front of the class and deliver the same lesson. Semi-autonomous software guides children through the syllabus; with a teacher on hand to answer questions and explain more complicated concepts. Evidence from early pilot studies shows that pupils learn more effectively this way than with traditional teaching”. This portrays children learn efficiently when working towards their goals at their own pace. Multimedia is an effective way of learning as many popular sites such as YouTube facilitates students learning as it portrays visual concepts of various subjects therefore supports individuals who retain information interactively. Websites such as TeacherTube.com allow educators post instructional videos and share techniques and lesson plans with colleges across the globe. As many students use computers and Smartphone’s to help them answer questions, therefore many copy and paste answers online as teachers upload sample answers for the students to have an understanding of what information is needed. However many students abuse this advantage as they manipulate the information to convey it as their own work. A similar issue related to plagiarism is students purchasing essays online; as technology has become widely used it has made it easier for many companies to advertise therefore it has become a growing profitable business. Many of these companies ensure the students will gain a pass, however many of their essays are poor quality as:“An investigation by the watchdog found that online services failed to live up to their claims of high-quality writing and research, despite charging up to £220 for an essay. In many cases, essays were riddled with basic writing and composition errors, and received very poor or failing grades from independent examiners”.
