Today’s schools are getting better equipped with technology. There are more computers going into schools than ever before. Teachers are now learning how to use computer programs to make learning easier of students. GIS  is a great tool to help students know their surrounding areas and any distant place that sparks their interests. Without this tool teachers would only be able to show students pictures in books but with GIS the students can interact with the environment.
I find it so easy to access all of my homework online or through my email. It is so simple to click on a homework page, and start where I left off rather than searching through folders to try to find it. Overall, technology is seen as a challenge, as well as an advantage. It simply all depends on how the technology will be used in the classroom. I feel that it can be particularly helpful by allowing teachers more time in the classroom to teach and by allowing them to be more organized.
In fact, computers give benefits to any student in the classroom even if they may have a different learning style. Whether the student is a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner, the computer offers something for everyone. The computer brings many benefits to the classroom environment even without focusing on separate learning styles. The internet of course is a humongous advantage! With its millions of sources and websites, the internet allows us to find basically any kind of information we need without even having to open a book.
The school district (LAUSD) has spent several millions on purchasing computers and hooking them up to the Internet. The emphasis is on acquiring technology instead of implementing it. I still think that the novelty of computers and its tremendous appeal to students of all ages should be utilized to teach. This same statement holds true for our schools and classrooms. So far, we are doing a wonderful job of using the internet and Google to make learning an interactive, engaging, and a knowledgeable experience for our students. The main reason why we use the internet on a day-to-day basis is for the ease of use. Keeping things simple is what attracts us to many things in life, so why not incorporate simplicity in the classroom? Student’s already use the internet for many things including research, so the way they act and behave toward it in the classroom would not be surprising to any student because of its familiarity.

Long Beach City College has a few to offer such as Psychology and Sociology which are equal to or even better then face to face classes. One example of a class that is better online rather than face to face is Sociology because they let the students observe human communication at public spaces without the teacher being there.
