Introduction: In today's societies, the government and criminal justice systems very much related to ethics because they both establish and carry out definite rights and duties. They also attempt to prevent and/or hold anyone accountable that deviates from these standards. (Wright 2012)
I. Thesis: While all of humanity should practice principles of equality, solidity, and human rights, it is extremely imperative that the corrections professionals and the criminal justice system come together at large to build a more just society. The Constitution of the United States ensures corrections professionals uphold the law in an ethical manner.
A). According to the legal dictionary, ethics is defined as "moral principles that governs someone behavior". Two main areas the U.S. Constitution implemented the outline of correction professionals behavior is through the Due Process Clause. In the Fifth Amendment which states: "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law", which in this context being applied to the federal government. The Fourteenth Amendment states the same exact thing, this time referring to the states. For this to be mentioned twice it must have high value. Vitek v. Jones is a great example for criminal due process. (Gottlieb, N. R. 1982) The due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment obligates certain steps and guidelines to be adhered to for state prisoners who may be transferred without choice to a state that can provide a mental hospital for treatment of a mental diseases or defects. A written notice of the transfer is required according to the law. An adversary hearing before a judge presenting notes of mental findings, and effective and timely notice of such rights...

...tions departments need to have more partnerships, especially when a prisoner is ready for release. Corrections departments need to work as a team to set up housing and society training for inmates. One good program that helps with this is the rehabilitation programs, which are among the first to be cut when budget cuts come around every year. Which means that the correction professions needs more innovated individuals that can come up with different options and varirieties of rehab. Inmates spend so much of their time being institutionalized so now it is up to the corrections society to ensure they are ready to be a citizen again.
