Cultural Policy in Taiwan
Taiwan has its own very special government system. On the central government level (relevant to the federal government), there are both president and premier in the system. The National Assembly is the representation of all citizens to the president, and the Legislative Assembly is to the premier who is in charge of the Executive Yuan, the top administrative body of Taiwan. The current National Assembly is in charge of the change of constitution laws, while the Legislative Yuan makes all other laws.
The Council for Cultural Affairs reports directly to the Executive Yuan. It is one of the 17 Councils that are under the governance the Executive Yuan, and it was founded on November 11, 1981. The Council is consisted of one chairperson, two vice chairperson, one executive secretary and one administrative officer. The Council also has three departments, four supporting administrative units and three duty organizing units. The Council also has Board of Directors which consists of several ministers from the Executive Yuan, scholars, experts and prominent artists. The Board is the highest mechanism that makes the final decisions for the Council. Unfortunately not very much information of a system of appointment of Board members or the chairpersons are written anywhere on the Council’s both English and Chinese version of website, and the website of the Executive Yuan.
The mandate or guideline (in their own words) of the Council aims to provide a wide range of services, including the preservation of heritage and traditional culture, cultivating arts and culture activities, supporting arts in the community and artists, promoting music, dance, drama, and fine arts, and a lot more. ...on the equivalent level as the former Provincial governments because of the large population live and work in their jurisdictions. They have their own department of managing the arts and cultural activities in their cities, especially Taipei City, where about one fourth of Taiwanese population is. The policy of Taipei City has tremendous impacts on the overall Taiwan. For other counties and municipalities the arts policies are more or less the extension of the from of the central government, or a means of attracting tourism.

They are elected internally by the council to one-year terms. The Chairman presides over meetings and only votes if there is a tie. The Vice-Chairman performs the duties of the Chairman in the absence of the Chairman. The Secretary-Treasurer keeps a complete record of all matters during council and tribal meetings. They also have the duties to account for all funds coming into the Tribal Council.
Another thing that the cultural rule helped to benefit Hong Ulsu and Kang Pyongju was to provide them jobs that Koreans would never had before under Japan’s rule. The cultural rule not only helped in the expansion of schools which allowed Koreans more opportunities to gain advanced studies and more job options, but appointed more Koreans to civil services and judiciary, created advisory councils of carefully chosen Koreans, and nominally re-adjusted dual pay scale for bureaucrats. Again, Hong Ulsu met a kind Japanese person who became his boss when he work for him as an apprentice in which he was the one who helped him the most when he arrived in Japan, such as he provided meals for him, paid him his wages, and also paid for his schooling.

The person with the most votes becomes the governor, and the next six runners up would hold positions as magistrates in the general court. The representative branch is established in section two where it is stated that the next runners up to the magistrates shall be the public officers to the people of their town. These three branches of government are exactly the same in present day, but how they are elected and appointed to their position is the only difference.
Artists communicate their identity through their work in different ways. Identity can be influenced by culture, community, and diversity, it can be represented and communicated in many different ways as well. The two artists I will be comparing are Ah Xian and Kerry James Marshall. Both artists represent culture identity in their works but in different ways as well as have different views on the subject of cultural identities.
Our Legislative Branch has two chambers or as some will call it bicameral. The chambers consist of the Senate and the House of Representatives just like the National Legislative Branch. In our Senate we currently have a total of 31 members and there are 150 members in the House of Representatives. Senators hold their seat for 4 years and their election years are spread out while the House of Representatives are elected for two-year terms. In our Texas Legislature we have a few authority figures. “The Texas Constitution provides that the lieutenant governor shall serve as president of the senate, the presiding officer of that body. The lieutenant governor is elected statewide by voters of Texas and is the second-highest ranking officer of the executive branch of government”. This characteristic is a good quality of its government, which is divided in three branches: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. The executive branch is set to make sure that laws are carries out the proper way. The Governor, the Lieutenant General, and the Attorney General are part of this branch. The legislative branch is composed by the Senate and the House of Representatives, which makes it a bicameral branch. Its job is to generate laws and balance the budget. Then, the judicial branch, composed by the supreme court, county and local courts, is in charge of civil and criminal cases. Our government here in Texas has three major parts that play a significant part in our decision making process. These levels have been deigned to decentralize power and make it more affective for the public's needs. The primary level is the Texas legislature. It is almost a given to say that everyone has at least heard of the legislature. Some variables that the legislature contains are the Lt. Governor, the Speaker of the house of Representatives and Committee Chairs. The Speaker acts as the presiding officer over the house and has two levels of power. These two levels are institutional powers which allow the officer to preside over the Legislative Audit Committee and Sunset Advisory Committee.
The Cultural Revolution was a revolution that had happened between 1966 and 1976 and had a great impact on China. The Cultural Revolution used to be known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution but was changed after many years. The main goal of this Revolution was to preserve true communist mainly in China by purging remnants of capitalist and traditional elements from Chinese society. In this semester, we have visited three public art agencies of NYC, which are the Percent for Art Program, the MTA’s Arts for Transit program, and Creative Time. These public art organizations commission public art to the public. They integrate and apply arts to sites through process and research based on artists’ practices. Public art agencies have similar goal that is to put artworks in appropriate sites and to get response from audiences. In this paper, I will discuss the three agencies we visited vary in rules of agency and patronage practices.
The article is about the Lewis Model which explains every culture in the word. After Lewis travel around the word, he thought that he could qualify to plot the world's cultures on a chart. He supported that people’s behaviors can be foresee via learning their culture. He plots countries in relation to three categories: Linear-actives, Multi-actives and Reactives. He drew a triangle chart to show the relationship between countries and three categories.

Each branch of the national government has power over each other and can check each other. Congress makes laws for the entire country. The president (executive branch) carries out the laws that congress makes. The judicial branch interprets how the law should be read. Each branch has separate jobs (separation of powers). For the state, governors have the authority to issue executive orders. This means that they can veto the legislation they enforce state laws instead of national laws. A premier who is now Li Peng leads the country. The Executive powers rest in the State Council, which is headed by the premier, Li Peng. The National People's Congress is the most powerful part of China's government. Its members are indirectly elected to serve five-year terms.
On the other hand, the democracy powers are divided into three independent branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial. The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, beginning as a campaign targeted at removing Chairman Mao Zedong's political opponents, was a time when practically every aspect of Chinese society was in pandemonium. From 1966 through 1969, Mao encouraged revolutionary committees, including the red guards, to take power from the Chinese Communist party authorities of the state. The Red Guards, the majority being young adults, rose up against their teachers, parents, and neighbors. Following Mao and his ideas, The Red Guard's main goal was to eliminate all remnants of the old culture in China. They were the 'frontline implementers' who produced havoc, used bloody force, punished supposed 'counter revolutionists', and overthrew government officials, all in order to support their 'beloved leader'.
It is the branch of government that is most closely related to citizens. They are typically elected by those in the district in which they represent, and they are expected to call to the needs of their district. If the executives represent the countries as a whole, the legislature represents the local areas of the country. They have six functions, each with their own level of responsibility. The six functions are representation, deliberation, legislation, authorizing expenditure, making governments, and oversight. In our political system, we decided on a bicameral (two-chamber)
