The article is about the Lewis Model which explains every culture in the word. After Lewis travel around the word, he thought that he could qualify to plot the world's cultures on a chart. He supported that people’s behaviors can be foresee via learning their culture. He plots countries in relation to three categories: Linear-actives, Multi-actives and Reactives. He drew a triangle chart to show the relationship between countries and three categories. He set the three types of culture on the vertex of the triangle. Because traditional culture vary from country to country. Different belief and doctrine were created by ancestor from country to country. It makes people act the different behaviors. Take China as an example, the Chinese conventional culture—Confucian culture—support that people should benevolence, righteousness, wisdom, loyalty, filial piety and honest. Chinese people was influenced by traditional culture for a longtime, so that they usually behave more undemonstrative, more self-effacing and harmony-oriented. Japanese people, another example, who was influenced by the spirit of Bushido is more care about personal loyalty and valiant. On the other hand, the traditional western culture, such as ancient Greek culture, taught people to seek the truth and to attach importance to logical thinking. Thus western people tend to more reason and impersonality. Prussianism, the traditional spirit of Germany, also makes German people be rigorous and punctual. These various traditional ideologies are imparted from generation to generation by people who is from different counties. Chinese government implements centralization system which means sovereign power prior to human rights, while majority western countries implement constitutional democracy. Chinese traditional politics principles force people to follow the idea of their superiors and seniorities. Therefore, Chinese people might be more willing to listen to others’ opinions and follow it. Also, Chinese people advocate collective. So, people are more care about interests of collective rather than personal interests, which makes people react partner’s action and people-oriented. In contrast, there is strict law in Germany which makes German people tend to follow the rule. Besides, many western countries prefer individualism. So that western people usually behave more job-oriented and care about personal development.
